5 nights in hotels (accommodation as specified or similar)
Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home, for your flight to Munich. On arrival we transfer to our hotel in the beautiful Ammergau Alps. We enjoy dinner this evening.
After breakfast, a coach journey takes us to nearby Oberammergau. We wander through the delightful historic town and visit the spectacular Oberammergau Museum, an exhibition on the town’s impressive wood carving history which remains a significant income here today. The quaint town is renowned for its decennial play, and that’s what we’ve travelled all this way to see! The Passion Play has been a tradition since 1634, when the villagers first performed the play depicting the passion, life and death of Jesus Christ after they were spared by the deadly plague. The spectacular performance in a special open-air theatre is like no other, with over 2,000 of the town’s 5,200 residents taking part, male actors growing out their beards and all costumes hand made to provide a more realistic perception of the era. Lunch and dinner are included today.
