Exceptional European tours

Holidays in Europe offer up scenic splendour, artistic treasures, and an extraordinary cultural heritage (you’ll find the highest density of UNESCO World Heritage Sites here). Best of all? Everything is right on our doorstep.

Our expertly designed European tours allow you to rekindle a love affair with favourites like Italy and Greece, or discover the delights of Eastern Europe and Iceland. Uncover the beauty of the Balkans on a journey through Montenegro and Croatia, or get a taste of European culture in the cities of Andalucia or Germany. Ride on Switzerland’s scenic railways, or cruise Norway’s wow-factor fjords.

Your trip doesn’t have to be all action, though. When it comes to escorted tours, Europe is one of the best places to take things a little slower and do some sightseeing. Stay in just one or two locations (Italy’s Lake Orta, perhaps, or the Greek island of Corfu), and combine days out with time relaxing for the best of both worlds.

As for dining out, European cuisine is diverse – and delicious. Whichever corner of the continent you’re exploring, you can look forward to superb local specialities, from Portuguese fish stews to Italian pasta dishes and sweet, sticky Turkish delight. And we’ve not even mentioned the wine. From full-bodied reds in Tuscany and aromatic whites in Romania to sherry in Jerez and port in the Douro Valley, join an award-winning Europe tour with Titan and raise a glass to this wonderful part of the world.

Looking for a different way to experience Europe’s tourist attractions? How about from a cruise ship or rail carriage – simply sit back and enjoy ever-changing scenery as you journey along rugged coastlines or through mountain landscapes.

Scenic rail holidays

Take the panoramic route with a holiday that includes rail transport in Europe. From spiral viaducts to glacier-draped passes, there’s plenty to tempt you, including Swiss rail journeys on the iconic Bernina Express and Norwegian trains that climb high above fjords and valleys.

Norway’s fjords, expeditions & small ship cruises

Take to the water on an unforgettable cruise. Board a small ship to explore the islands of Croatia, journey to the remote Arctic archipelago of Svalbard or sail past Norwegian fjords aboard a sleek hybrid ship.

A taste of Europe: food & wine tours

From market halls to farm tours, itineraries often include excursions that celebrate European cuisine through a local lens. Look for tastings of local produce, hands-on cooking demonstrations and chances to explore city markets during free time.

Famous dishes

Eat your way around Europe with handmade pasta and farm-fresh mozzarella in Italy, or baklava and Turkish coffee in Istanbul. If you’re more of a sweet tooth, try a slice of cream-filled Bled cake in Slovenia, Croatian honey at a rural farm or chocolate in a Sicilian confectioners.

Wine regions

Sample Europe’s signature pours in destinations that spotlight wine tourism – think classic reds at Tuscan wine estates, sherry at Andalucian bodegas, and port in Porto’s riverside lodges.

Planning your European holiday with Titan Travel

1. Settle on a location

Planning tours of Europe can be tricky, particularly if you’re hoping to travel across multiple countries on your holiday. Europe covers an area of almost four million square miles, so start by narrowing down your search area.

Our tours cover little pockets of Europe and have all been designed to give you a real flavour of your destinations, from highlights to hidden gems. We’ve worked out the route, organised transport and hotels, and pre-booked any tickets – if you’re looking for a holiday that’s hassle-free, you’ve come to the right place.

2. Choose your trip length

Most travellers choose a relaxed pace of 7-14 days, while we also offer a few longer itineraries running just over two weeks. If you prefer to see more on one trip, our multi-country routes stitch together neighbouring highlights (think Prague, Vienna and Budapest, with time in Slovenia or Italy, or Croatia and Montenegro).

3. Familiarise yourself with Europe’s rules & regulations

If you’re touring Schengen countries, UK visitors can usually stay up to 90 days in any 180-day period across the whole area (Ireland follows different rules). Ensure your passport has enough validity for the full trip, and allow a little extra time at borders as new EU entry/exit systems are phased in. For money, many countries use the euro (EUR) but not all. Cards are widely accepted; just check your itinerary for any non-Euro stops so you’re prepared.

What are the visa requirements for Europe?

Currently, UK residents don't need a visa to travel in Europe, as long as the stay is less than 90 days. Our travel advisors can let you know more on the visa requirements for holidays to Europe when you book, or you can use the handy tool on our visa requirements page.

4. Trust in us

Make it effortless from day one. Our escorted tours are fully packaged - including flights, comfortable hotels, curated excursions and our nationwide shared chauffeur transfers. This means the logistics are handled, allowing you to enjoy the journey. Decades of touring expertise and exceptional tour managers create the peace of mind our customers know and love us for.

Holidays in Europe FAQs

Our European escorted tours are designed to show you the best of your chosen destination. Each one is accompanied by one of our tour managers, so you’ll have someone on hand to make sure the trip runs seamlessly.

A selection of excursions will be included, often with expert local guides to offer that extra bit of insight and knowledge. Effortless travel is key on all of our touring holidays. Europe is a big place and working out where to go, what to do and how to get there can be time-consuming. With us, all of that is taken care of – all you need to do is pack your suitcase and enjoy!

Another plus-point of our European coach tours is the fact that our shared chauffeur service is included on every itinerary. It doesn’t matter how far you live from the airport, either – we cover everywhere in mainland UK (except a handful of places where cars aren’t allowed).

There isn't really a 'bad' time to visit - it all depends what sort of Europe tour you're interested in. For a trip to southern Spain, early and late summer are ideal, with plenty of sunshine and warm evenings for dining al fresco. If you're desperate to see the Northern Lights in Iceland, you'll want a winter date. Travelling early or late in the season tends to offer better value, so is ideal if you're on a budget.

Delicious - and incredibly varied. Every region will have its own speciality dishes, and we'd highly recommend trying a few on our escorted tours. Europe is a big place, so you'll find everything from fermented shark in Iceland (definitely an acquired taste) to honey-soaked baklava in Greece and Turkey.

Europe is a big wine producer, so you'll find hundreds of local labels to try, from dry sparkling wines in Italy to Portugal's sweet, fortified wine. Don't forget to try a shot or two of local liqueur too – a little bottle often makes a great souvenir, reminding you of your Europe tour once you're back home.

Tipping customs will vary from country to country, so it's worth checking before you leave what the norms are – in Italy, for example, there's usually a set cover charge in restaurants, so there's no need to tip on top of this. If you're travelling on one of our European tours, you'll find information on tipping and gratuities on the useful information pack we'll send you with your final documents. Your tour manager will be able to advise you as well.

For history, we love Rome, Athens and Istanbul. For art and architecture, try Florence, Vienna or Prague.

The most famous UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Europe are probably the Historic Centre of Rome (Colosseum and Forum), Athens’ Acropolis, the Alhambra in Granada, Gaudí’s works in Barcelona and the Palace of Versailles.

We’d also highly recommend Dubrovnik Old Town, Prague’s Historic Centre, Florence, and Vatican City.

When it comes to art and architecture in Europe, Italy and Spain are powerhouses – think Renaissance masters in Florence and Venice and Gaudí in Barcelona. If you’re seeking out classic heritage, we’d recommend Greece; for baroque wonders, try Austria and Germany.
