  • Day 1

    UK - Athens

Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home for your flight to Athens. On arrival, we transfer to our hotel in the heart of the city.

    Amalia Hotel, Athens (4*)

  • Day 2

    Athens

This morning, a city tour will introduce us to Athens’ highlights. We’ll pay a visit to the incredible Acropolis, crowned by the marble columns of the Parthenon, and explore the Acropolis Museum, which now houses many of the original sculptures and friezes from this ‘city of temples’.
The afternoon is at leisure. Perhaps wander through the cobblestone streets of the Plaka neighbourhood, browsing the pottery and jewellery shops and stopping off at a pavement café for a frappé (iced coffee).
Tonight, we’ll enjoy dinner at a traditional restaurant, accompanied by Greek music and a folklore dance performance.

    Amalia Hotel, Athens (4*)

  • Day 3

    Delphi - Itea

A 3.5-hour drive brings us to Delphi, an ancient sanctuary dedicated to Apollo and once known as the ‘navel of the world’.
We’ll visit the archaeological site, admiring temple ruins and mountain vistas, and tour the museum, which displays a host of artefacts dating from Mycenaean to Greco-Roman times.
After lunch, we’ll continue on to the picturesque coastal town of Itea, where the rest of the day is free for you to relax or explore.

    Nafsika Palace, Itea (4*)

  • Day 4

Argos - Palamidi Fortress - Nauplia

It’s a long drive (4.5 hours) to Nauplia (also known as Nafplio or Nafplion), so we’ll break up the journey with a tour and tasting at a winery in Argos. The Peloponnese boasts ideal conditions for viticulture, and there are protected regions for white and red wine production close to the winery.
Arriving in Nauplia later, we’ll enjoy a walking tour before paying a visit to the Palamidi Fortress. Nestled on a hilltop, the fortress was built by the Venetians during the 18th century, and offers up panoramic views of the Argolic Gulf.

    Amalia Nafplio (4*)

  • Day 5

    Day 5 - Nauplia - Piraeus

Enjoy the morning at leisure in Nauplia before we drive back to Athens and the port of Piraeus. Embark our ship early afternoon, ready to begin your Black Sea cruise.

  • Day 6

Day 6 - Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey

The first port of call on our Black Sea cruise is Kusadasi. The headline act here is Ephesus, an ancient Greek city flaunting remarkably well preserved ruins. See the famous façade of the Celsus Library, admire mosaicked pathways and stroll alongside roads scored with chariot wheel ruts.
Nearby sights include the House of the Virgin Mary, where Mary was believed to have spent her final years, and the Basilica of St John.

  • Day 7

Day 7 - Cruising the Bosphorus Strait

Today, you’ll sail along the Bosphorus Strait, a 20-mile stretch of water connecting the Sea of Marmara with the Black Sea. The water acts as a natural continental divide - as you travel along, you’ll have Europe on one side and Asia on the other.

    Azamara Journey® (5-star)

  • Day 8

    Day 8 - Varna, Bulgaria

The port city of Varna is a great place for a stroll, thanks to its seaside park and sandy beach. Head for the Archaeological Museum to discover its ‘buried treasure’ - 6,000-year-old jewellery from a forgotten civilisation, unearthed in the ‘70s in a nearby necropolis. And don’t forget to sample some local wine - this area is famous for its robust reds.

    Azamara Journey® (5-star)

  • Day 9

    Day 9 - Constanta, Romania

Explore Constanta’s cultural treasures and grand old casino today, or join a shore excursion to Bucharest, Romania’s cool, cosmopolitan capital.

  • Day 10 & 11

    Day 10 & 11 - Odessa, Ukraine (overnight)

An overnight stay in Odessa gives you plenty of time to discover this Black Sea jewel.
Admire neo-classical buildings painted in pastel shades, snap a photo of the famous Potemkin Stairs, and appreciate the blend of Viennese, Italian and French architecture at the renowned Odessa Opera and Ballet Theatre.
You can also browse the stalls at bustling Pryvoz food market and the shops along pedestrianised Deribasovskaya Street, which also boasts plenty of cafés for people-watching and a pot of tea.

    Azamara Journey® (5-star)

  • Day 13 & 14

Day 13-14 - Istanbul, Turkey (overnight)

Spend two days discovering the delights of Turkey’s biggest city. Start in Sultanahmet Square and you can easily explore the intricate architecture of Topkapi Palace, the cathedral-turned-mosque-turned-museum of Hagia Sofia, and the brilliant blues of the Sultan Ahmed Mosque.
Away from the sights, you can sip thick, strong coffee in neighbourhood cafés; feast on mezes and kebabs at traditional restaurants; and wander through the Grand Bazaar, an Aladdin’s cave of teapots, lanterns, rugs, ceramics, spices and much more.

    Azamara Journey® (5-star)

  • Day 15

    Day 15 - Kepez

This small seaside town is the jumping-off point for both Troy and Gallipoli. At Troy, you can uncover 4,000 years of history as you stroll around this ancient archaeological site, immortalised in Homer’s epic, ‘The Iliad’. Head for the Gallipoli peninsula and you can tour the battlefields, scene of the aborted Allied invasion of 1915.

    Azamara Journey® (5-star)
