Every aspect has been thought about, right down to the finer details. We've included a drinks reception of the first night, for example, just to help everyone get to know each other.
Travel solo but never alone
Travelling solo can be an amazing experience. You'll meet new people, see new places and make memories that'll last a lifetime. There's no 'typical' solo traveller on our holidays. We welcome all sorts of people, travelling for all sorts of reasons. They do all have one thing in common, through - a love for travel.
Wherever you’re dreaming of – the Grand Canyon, Costa Rica’s cloud forests, the Italian Lakes – having a great group of people to share and relive a trip’s memorable moments with makes them all the more special. And this is what you’ll discover on our solo traveller holidays….

Solo holidays & escorted tour FAQs
Yes, you’ll always be able to return to the comfort of your own room. This gives you space whenever you need it, as well as comfortable surroundings where you can rest and get ready for the day or night ahead.
You’ll have the freedom to socialise as much or as little as you want, but we’ll provide plenty of opportunities for you to get to know everyone else on the tour. Travelling together is a wonderful way to get to know people - our customers often finish tours with lifelong friends (and future travel companions).
Not if you don’t want to. If you’d like some company, you can head along to an informal dinner led by your tour manager. The conversation always tends to flow when there’s a memorable day to reflect on - and perhaps a bottle of wine on the table. Your tour manager will let you know when and where to meet.
Of course - you’re more than welcome to join any of the regular departure dates for these tours, or any of our other holidays. Groups tend to be a mix of couples, friends, families and single travellers, so there’s always a lovely, friendly atmosphere.
Your tour manager can introduce you to other solo travellers in the group if you like, and we make it easy to mingle at every opportunity, organising coaches to excursions and meals where you can sit down and get chatting to your fellow travellers.
While we don’t have any solo-specific voyages, we do welcome lots of solo travellers on cruises each year. Many of our exclusive river cruises have cabins with no single supplement available (these tend to book up quickly, so we’d recommend booking sooner rather than later), and you’ll stay in a spacious, comfortable twin cabin.
Cruise and tours are another great option. Mealtimes are sociable, with group seating allowing you to get to know other passengers. Some cruise lines also arrange informal drinks receptions or coffee mornings where you can meet others travelling by themselves. Your travel advisor can let you know all the details.
