Uluru rock in the evening sunset, Australia

Epic  Australia tour holidays

An ancient landscape with over 50,000 years of indigenous culture, jaw-dropping coastlines and laidback charm, there is nowhere else like Australia. Our Australia tours have been designed so that you can immerse yourselves in this wonderfully diverse country - a destination that ticks off natural wonders, iconic sites and quirky wildlife (as well as some extraordinary beaches).

Enjoy an urban escape in cosmopolitan cities including Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. Sip delicious wines in Australia’s prestigious wine regions, from Hunter Valley in New South Wales to Yarra Valley in Victoria. And perhaps sample a few unusual dishes using native ingredients found nowhere else on Earth.

Ultimate Australia holidays would also need to include a trip to the dramatic Outback. We’ll take you to ochre lands where you can indulge your adventurous spirit and explore Uluru and Kata Tjuta National Park. You’ll discover the Whitsunday Islands and enter the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef - where whales, sharks and an abundance of marine life can be seen.

Exhilarating road trips, heritage rail journeys, catamaran cruises – our Australia holidays will take you on a journey like no other. (And if you’re after a really epic adventure, why not add New Zealand to your itinerary?)

What our experts love about Australia

Sydney never fails to amaze me each time I visit. We've all seen photographs of Sydney Opera House but nothing compares to the moment you see it in real life. I love sitting at one of the outdoor tables at the Opera Bar with the sun on my face and a glass of wine in hand, enjoying the view out across to Sydney Harbour Bridge.

What are the best places to visit in Australia?

It’s a huge country, and there are countless incredible sights to see and cities to explore. We’ve highlighted a few icons below, which we include on all of our Australia touring holidays.

Great Barrier Reef

More information about Australia

It’s the incredible experiences we can arrange on our Australia holidays that will create those memories of a lifetime - from helicopter rides over the Great Barrier Reef to sipping bubbles as you watch the sun set behind Uluru, we always try to make our escorted tours special. We’ll take care of all the logistics, and can help you to organise extensions, add-ons and optional excursions. It all comes together to create a truly effortless adventure.

We think Sydney, Uluru and the Great Barrier Reef are fantastic additions to any Australian holiday, so we include them on all of our itineraries. Then you’ve got Melbourne, a lovely beachside city with great shopping and cafe scenes - staying here for a few days will allow you to explore nearby attractions like Philip Island and the Dandenongs. If you’ve got the time, our comprehensive Grand Tour of Australia takes you to all the above, plus beautiful spots such as Fraser Island, Kakadu National Park and Noosa.

Flight time from London to Melbourne or Sydney is around 22 hours, though you’ll need a stopover at some point along the route – our Australia tours often fly via Singapore.

Australia’s seasons are the opposite of ours, so we’d recommend travelling between September and February – the Aussie spring and summer months. In the far north, the rainy season runs over the summer, so remember to pack an umbrella if you’re heading to Cairns. For more detailed information and seasonal tips from our experts, take a look at our blog post on the best times to visit Australia and New Zealand.

Tipping is not expected but will be welcomed for good service – for service in restaurants etc. 10 per cent is usual. For local guides or drivers, a couple of dollars per day is suggested.

Visa requirements for Australia holidays vary depending on the passport you hold and the length of time you’re planning on staying. Currently, British Citizens holidaying in Australia need to obtain a visa or an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA). For the most up-to-date information on visas, please use the quick-check tool on our visa requirements page.

We suggest taking a selection of lightweight cottons and linens that you can layer. A jacket and warmer layers are useful for cooler evenings and we also suggest a compact waterproof jacket for occasional showers. A sun hat is vital, as are comfortable shoes – you’ll be doing plenty of walking!
