Christmas Eve - Windsor Castle
This morning, we’ll visit Windsor Castle, just across the road from the hotel. The favoured weekend residence of Her Majesty the Queen, still used regularly for ceremonial and State occasions, is the largest and oldest occupied castle in the world. Its many royal treasures include Queen Mary's beautiful Dolls House. And the State Apartments and St George’s Hall reflect the tastes of current and previous occupants including a collection of art by Rembrandt and Rubens. Subject to operation we may be lucky enough to view the Changing of the Guard ceremony. After our visit you’re free to explore. Tea, coffee and biscuits are available on your return to the hotel. There’s also the opportunity to partake in Midnight Mass.
Christmas Day - Windsor
Start your Christmas Day celebrations with a morning at leisure to relax at the hotel, or take a walk in preparation for the feasts ahead. Enjoy a sumptuous festive lunch, with Christmas cake served a little later, while watching the Queen’s Speech.
Boxing Day - Kew
We’ll head to the inspirational Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew. London’s only 300-acre UNESCO World Heritage Site showcases centuries of royal history. The hop-on, hop-off Kew Explorer train helps you to discover over 250 years of history at the world’s most famous garden and to explore beautiful landscapes and tropical glasshouses. Kew also has one of the world’s finest collections of botanical art. A light lunch of soup or sandwiches is provided before we return to the hotel, for tea, coffee and biscuits and a leisurely afternoon.
