William Shakespeare’s birthplace is a national treasure, a museum dedicated to the stories of family life as he was growing up, and beyond. Anne Hathaway moved here for the first five years of their marriage. We’ll take a walk from our hotel, for an opportunity to see rare artefacts and learn how he became the world’s most famous playwright. Afterwards, we’ll wind our way through the Cotswolds on a panoramic drive. There’ll be free time in the ‘olde worlde’ village of Broadway, a picturesque mix of period houses and honey-hued Cotswold stone cottages with a rich heritage. Its royal, political and artistic legacy includes King Charles I, Oliver Cromwell, William Morris and J M Barrie.
