We set out for Bolton Abbey station, to board the train running on the preserved Embsay and Bolton Railway line. The railway runs between the recently rebuilt, award-winning station of Bolton Abbey and Embsay station, built in 1888. During the short journey through the outstanding beauty of the Yorkshire Dales, you’ll get to take in the beautiful views towards the craggy outcrop of Embsay Crag and Hugh Crag. We’ll then stop in Skipton for some free time in this delightful town, home to one of England’s best-preserved medieval castles. Gentlemen are required to wear jackets (but no ties) for dinner this evening.

Day 3 Christmas Day - Harrogate

Merry Christmas! You’re free to relax at the hotel and spend the day completely as you please. Perhaps venture into Harrogate for the opportunity to stroll its quaint, tranquil streets on this festive morning. This charming spa town is full of beautiful and historic architecture. This afternoon, enjoy a tasty Christmas lunch back at the hotel. There’ll be a further opportunity to relax, with coffee and Christmas cake served in time for the Queen’s Speech. A gala buffet will be served this evening at our hotel followed by entertainment. For this evening’s gala Christmas Day buffet, a dress code of lounge suits applies.

Day 4 Boxing Day - Ripon

At Ripon Museums, we’ll visit two of its fascinating sites (within walking distance of each other). Filled with intriguing details of the past, they showcase the story of policing, with a Georgian courthouse and Victorian workhouse. The workhouse was almost self-sufficient, with its own teacher, chaplain and doctors. You can enter the courthouse to see where defendants were tried by the township or parish officers in attendance - constables, surveyors of the highways and overseers of the poor. For our final evening drinks reception and dinner, a dress code of lounge suits applies.

Day 5 Harrogate

You’ll be collected at 10am by your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.
