Along the outer reaches is Mala Mala Game Reserve. It’s one of the oldest and more established private reserves, and offers the ultimate safari experience.
Rangers take us to our lodge, deep in the African bush, on the borders of Kruger National Park. Later, we head out for our first afternoon game drive in a ranger-handled open safari vehicle. Expect to get close to lions, elephants and rhinos, and watch stately giraffes striding by. We’ll watch the sun set with a ‘sundowner’ tipple, before some more nocturnal game viewing.
We enjoy dinner in a reed-enclosed boma then retire to our luxurious African-style rondavels.
- Game drive at Mala Mala (afternoon)
