Day 2 - Hanoi
Begin the afternoon in Vietnam’s leafy, elegant capital. Wander along the wide, tree-lined boulevards of the French Quarter, where colonial buildings stand shoulder to shoulder. Visit the Vietnam National Fine Arts Museum before continuing to the tranquil Ngoc Son Temple, set on a small island in the northern part of Hoan Kiem Lake. Incense drifts through the air, adding to the calm atmosphere. End the day with a walk through the vibrant Old Quarter. Please note: depending on your arrival flight time, this included city tour may take place on Day 3 to make a full day city tour, with the rest of Day 2 at leisure after your flight.

Day 3 - Hanoi
Visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, then view Ho Chi Minh’s stilted house, set in peaceful lakeside gardens. Pass the 12th-century One Pillar Pagoda before continuing to the Temple of Literature, once reserved for emperors and mandarins. Conclude the morning at West Lake with visits to Quan Thanh Temple and Tran Quoc Pagoda, one of Hanoi’s oldest Buddhist sites. Enjoy time at leisure this afternoon before attending a traditional water-puppet performance in a local theatre.

Travel to Halong Bay this morning, where nearly 3,000 limestone islands rise dramatically from the emerald waters of the South China Sea. Cruise among the towering karsts, weaving between islands and exploring caves and grottoes. After time on the water, return to Hanoi.

Discover Hue’s imperial legacy on a full-day tour. Explore the vast Imperial Citadel before boarding a boat along the Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda, recognised by its seven-tiered octagonal tower. Visit the elaborate tombs of Nguyen Dynasty emperors, including Tu Duc and Khai Dinh, set among the surrounding hills.

Day 7 - Hue - Danang - Hoi An
Travel south to Danang and visit the Cham Museum, home to the world’s largest collection of Cham sculpture. Continue overland to Hoi An, pausing to admire the Marble Mountains and Non Nuoc Beach. Arrive in Hoi An, a remarkably preserved trading port known for its blend of Chinese, French and Japanese influences. Explore the Old Town on foot, seeing traditional shophouses and the iconic Japanese Covered Bridge. Take a short cruise along the Thu Bon River before checking in to the hotel.

Day 11 - Ho Chi Minh City - Can Tho
Visit a Cao Dai temple before travelling south to Cai Be in the Mekong Delta. Board a motorised boat and cruise along one of the river’s tributaries, observing daily life on the water and activity in the rice fields. Continue by coach to Can Tho.

Day 12 - Can Tho - Chau Doc
Set out early by boat to experience a floating market at its liveliest. Return to Can Tho to visit the Mekong Delta Museum and a local Khmer pagoda. Drive to Chau Doc this afternoon and take a boat trip to a traditional houseboat and a nearby Cham community, with visits to temples characteristic of the region.

Explore Angkor Wat, the world’s largest religious monument and Cambodia’s most iconic temple complex. Continue to Ta Prohm, where ancient stone towers intertwine with jungle roots. This afternoon, cruise on Tonle Sap Lake and visit one of its floating villages. Enjoy dinner accompanied by a traditional Apsara dance performance.

Today begins with a visit to the most remote and exquisite ruins of Banteay Srei - The Citadel of Women – built in the 10th century and renowned for its superb decoration. Returning to Siem Reap, visit SATCHA Cambodian handicraft centre, where local artisans' are empowered to develop through knowledge of traditional and contemporary skills. The remainder of the afternoon is at leisure.

Day 18 - Siem Reap - Luang Prabang
