A short drive from the hotel brings the Pyramids of Giza into view. Their purpose and construction continue to fascinate historians, particularly the precision of their scale and alignment. Accompanied by an Egyptologist, explore the Great Pyramid of Khufu, built from an estimated two million stone blocks, alongside the pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure. Day 3 - Cairo
Today includes a morning visit to the recently opened Grand Egyptian Museum. Opened in late 2025, this landmark museum is the largest in the world dedicated to a single civilisation and presents an extraordinary sweep of ancient Egyptian history, including the full treasures of King Tutankhamun and the Khufu Solar Boat on display together for the first time.

Day 4 - Alexandria
A long but rewarding day uncovers Alexandria, Egypt’s historic Mediterranean port city. Founded by Alexander the Great, it later became a centre of power under Cleopatra, whose palace now lies beneath the harbour. Alexandria was home to the legendary Pharos Lighthouse and the Great Library, among the most famous landmarks of the ancient world. Explore the Graeco-Roman Museum and the Modern Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

Day 5 - Cairo - Luxor
A morning flight south leads to Luxor, gateway to Upper Egypt and the start of the Nile cruise. On arrival explore the East Bank with visits to Luxor Temple, a ceremonial centre of the New Kingdom, and the vast Karnak Temple complex, covering more than 100 hectares. Walk along the Avenue of Sphinxes and step into the Hypostyle Hall, where 134 massive columns rise in precise geometric rows, each covered in detailed hieroglyphs. Board your ship for lunch, and enjoy an afternoon at leisure.

Day 6 - Luxor - Edfu
Begin the day on the West Bank of Luxor, home to the Valley of the Kings, burial ground of New Kingdom pharaohs from the 16th to 11th centuries BC. Discover notable tombs, with the option to enter Tutankhamun’s famous tomb (extra charge). Continue to the mortuary temple of Hatshepsut, built into dramatic cliffs, and see the Colossi of Memnon, towering statues that have stood for millennia, before returning to the ship to sail to Edfu.

In the afternoon, visit the Nubian Museum, which showcases the history, art and culture of Nubia.
