The USA's incredible national parks

The USA is famous for having some of the most beautiful national parks in the world. Travellers wishing to see the stunning wild side of North America can do so by taking Titan’s The Awe-Inspiring National Parks tour. To give you an introduction to the breathtaking sights you will see, here are some incredible 360 degree views of the national parks using Google Views. Click and drag the images to see the parks in their full splendour.

Rocky Mountain National Park

Rocky Mountain National Park is a magnificent wilderness spanning 415 square miles in the state of Colorado. Famous for its rugged terrain, snow-capped mountains and arresting blue lakes, Rocky Mountain National Park is the perfect place to snap some stunning photographs. The view provided is of Odessa Gorge, a spectacular sight from where you can also see Odessa Lake and the iconic Flattop Mountain.

Mount Rushmore

One of the most iconic artworks of the USA, the Mount Rushmore National Memorial is in the state of South Dakota. Upon Mount Rushmore are carved 60-foot sculptures of the faces of former US presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. The view provided shows the incredible sight of the sculptures, which were carved from 1927 to 1941 by Danish-American artist Gutzon Borglum and his son Lincoln Borglum.

Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone National Park, primarily located in the state of Wyoming, contains a rich abundance of breathtaking wildlife, lakes, waterfalls, mountains, forests and geothermal features such as the famous Old Faithful Geyser. Spanning 3,468.4 square miles, Yellowstone National Park has a huge number of attractions to visit, but be sure not to miss the one shown in the view provided, the fantastic Grand Prismatic Spring, which can be seen from the Fairy Falls trail.

Grand Teton National Park

Also located in the state of Wyoming is the beautiful Grand Teton National Park, which spans 310,000 acres and includes the major peaks of the 40-mile long Teton Range of mountains. The park is named after the tallest mountain of the range, Grand Teton, which rises a majestic 13,775 feet. The view provided shows Cascade Creek, which flows the length of Cascade Canyon before tumbling 100 feet over Hidden Falls.

Arches National Park

The vivid red sandstone arches of Arches National Park in the state of Utah are a truly astonishing spectacle. Spanning 73,000 acres of rugged wilderness, the park contains over 2,000 naturally formed arches, including the beautiful example shown in the view provided, the stunning Partition Arch, which creates a wonderful window onto the park stretching out to the horizon.

Bryce Canyon National Park

Also in the state of Utah, Bryce Canyon National Park covers 55.92 square miles and is famous for its unique geological structures called hoodoos, which are tall pillars of rocks created by frost weathering and stream erosion of the lake and river bed sedimentary rocks. The sun-bleached red, orange and white pastel colours of the rocks can clearly be seen in the view provided and show why so many travellers visit this beautiful region.

Zion National Park

Remaining in Utah, Zion National Park is yet another must-visit attraction in this state. Covering 229 square miles, Zion National Park has four distinct life zones: desert, riparian, woodland and coniferous forest, each of which has its own unique forms of flora and wildlife. Stand out attractions include Zion Canyon and Angels Landing, shown in the view provided, which is a towering 1,488 foot rock formation that enables visitors to behold stunning views of the park.

Grand Canyon

One of the great natural wonders of the world, the Grand Canyon, in the state of Arizona, is a colossal gorge carved by the Colorado River, which is 277 miles long, up to 18 miles wide and in some places attains a depth of over a mile. The view provided shows the sheer awe-inspiring grandeur of this magnificent natural wonder, which can also be seen by plane or helicopter. Without a doubt the Grand Canyon is one of the true must-see attractions on a USA tour and an unforgettable experience.

Nicola considers herself very lucky to have had the opportunity to visit a number of places around the world and these experiences usually involve searching for as many kinds of wildlife as possible. Recent highlights include penguins in Antarctica, bears and whales in Canada and Alaska and sea otters in California - but there are always more animals to search for.
