Legend has it that King Minos of Knossos kept a bull gifted to him, instead of sacrificing it to Poseidon as was intended. The punishment was seeing his wife fall in love with the bull, and the end result was the creation of the Minotaur - a fearsome looking creature of half man, half bull. You’ll feel worldlier after visiting sites like the Palace of Knossos.

The island of Corfu is a place of serenity where you can soak up the beauty of nature by walking the Corfu Trail. It starts a little south of Kavos and will transport intrepid hikers into olive groves, across sand dunes, through valleys, down gorges, up cliffs and onto some of the highest peaks on the island.
