Fascinating history

The origin of the very first Olympic Games, Greece has long been lauded at the birthplace of Western culture. Visit the ancient capital, Athens, and be astounded by the wealth of history. From the Acropolis and its significantly important remnants including the Parthenon, we’ll walk amongst the citadel’s ruins that date back four millennia. In Olympia (Katakolon), step back in time at this mesmerising archaeological site which saw the first Olympic Games take place every four years for over a century. Although little remains of the original temples, there is still a sense of its former glory in what is one of Greece’s most important cultural sites. Learn, too, about Roman, Ottoman and Italian influences as well as walk through timeless temples, churches and jaw-dropping amphitheatres.
