Exhilarating  South America tours

Diverse is the watchword when it comes to our Latin and South America tours. Scenery shifts from white-sand beaches and tropical jungle, to colossal canyons and pale-blue icefields. Historic highlights include Mayan temples, Inca cities and colonial churches; and the wildlife roll call covers off king penguins, giant tortoises, jewel-coloured hummingbirds and tiny tree frogs.

Our South America escorted tours allow you to discover the rich culture of Peru, see the stunning fjords and lakes of Chile, marvel at volcanoes in Ecuador or feel the spray from thundering waterfalls in Brazil. On Latin America holidays, meanwhile, you could gaze up at ancient Mexican pyramids or seek out sloths and scarlet macaws in Costa Rica.

Stick to a single country, or go big and traverse the continent – our incredible Grand Tour of South America holiday packages four countries into one unforgettable trip. You could also take to the water – cruise holidays in South America can take you right down to the wildly beautiful the tip of the continent, while Latin American voyages reveal traditional villages and volcanic beaches.

What our experts love about South America tours

Food and drink is such an important part of the culture in Latin America, usually in the form of big celebratory family dinners! My favourite delicacies include fresh ceviche and a Pisco Sour in Peru, a glass of smooth carmenere in Chile and a traditional churrascaria dinner in Brazil. You certainly won't go hungry!

More information about South America

We have been taking travellers on effortless adventures to South and Latin America for decades now. Our destination experts are specialists in ensuring you’ll get the most from your holiday – a tour with Titan allows you to see, do and experience more.

This is an incredibly varied part of the world, so it’s worth having a good think about what you’d like from your holiday. Amazing wildlife experiences? Photo-worthy scenery? History and culture? Have a read of our online destination guides for each country, or give our travel advisors a call to see which tour might suit you.

A number of vaccinations are recommended for travel to South America (some of which you may have already had). It’s a good idea to visit your GP or travel clinic for advice on what’s needed and when.

Weather conditions and patterns vary a fair bit between each country, so it’s worth checking before you book a date. Some dates to note include October for Costa Rica (turtle-nesting time in Tortuguero – magical!), early November for Mexico (for the Day of the Dead festival), June for Peru (for the Inti Raymi festival) and February for Carnavale in Brazil.

On our tours, we travel by coach most of the time, with the occasional rail journey or cruise. Check the individual tour itineraries for full details of transport.

Tipping customs do vary by country, but a general rule of thumb is to tip 10-15 per cent for good service. Before your holiday, we’ll send you a useful information pack, which include suggested tips for tour managers, drivers and guides in your destination.

Visa requirements for Latin and South America tours vary depending on the country (or countries) you’re visiting, the passport you hold and the length of time you’re planning on staying. For the most up-to-date information on visas, please use the quick-check tool on our visa requirements page.

Wherever you’re heading, it’ll be a long flight – around 10 hours to Mexico from London, for example, and 12 to Rio de Janeiro.

Spanish and Portuguese are most widely spoken. There are also a huge number of indigenous languages and dialects spoken across the continent. You’ll always have an English-speaking tour manager with you, who can help with any translation.

Every country has a different currency – for convenience on arrival, it’s worth taking a small mixed amount of cash in the relevant currency. US$ and Euros are easily exchanged on arrival. It’s quite commonplace to withdraw currency from an ATM using your debit card, or exchange facilities are widely available.
