Burma Tour Holidays

Until very recently, travelling to Burma for a holiday was almost impossible, but this intriguing country, also known as Myanmar, is now opening up to the world, surprising and delighting foreign visitors with its long-hidden charms. Compared to neighbouring Southeast Asian countries, Burma remains a relatively undeveloped, off-the-beaten track destination, but that’s all part of the adventure! In the former capital, Rangoon, you’ll find an abundance of faded colonial-era architecture and exotic pagodas, while Bagan’s collection of more than 2,000 temples rivals Angkor Wat in mystery and antiquity. Head off on the road to Mandalay, immortalised by Rudyard Kipling’s eponymous poem - and the Frank Sinatra song based on it – home to the beautiful Mahamuni Pagoda and the nation’s most revered statue of the Buddha and enjoy a cruise up the Irrawaddy, experiencing traditional village life and pristine jungle landscapes.
