Travel trend report 2019

Titan’s travel trend report takes a close-up look at the market.

We combed through reams of data, picked the brains of our expert product team and spoke with the big names at the heart of the escorted touring industry.

We saw new destinations emerging and old favourites making a comeback. We noticed a shift in the way people choose their holidays, and what they want while they’re away. Most importantly, it was clear that escorted touring is becoming more adventurous than ever. These are travellers who have the time (and the money) to see the world - and see it in style.

Check out a few of our findings...

top destination USA

Top destination: USA

The USA’s diversity is what makes it so attractive to travellers. One of Titan’s most popular itineraries is a Mississippi river cruise on American Queen, a traditional paddle-wheel steamer - demand soared after cruise celebrity Jane McDonald travelled on board the same ship.

trending tour

Trending tour: Central America

Titan has seen demand for its two Central American tours, ‘Mexico’s Mayan Trail’ and ‘Natural Wonders of Costa Rica’, soar by 95 percent and 82 percent respectively. Although both countries have a lot to offer visitors, public transportation is still fairly limited, making escorted touring an ideal way for travellers to easily cover the highlights.

bouncing back

Bouncing back: Cuba

This year Titan has seen this slice of paradise bounce back - and then some. The demand for the operator’s 'Cuban Discovery’ tour has soared year on year and is showing no sign of slowing. This demonstrates the country as more than just a ‘fly-and-flop’ holiday, with travellers wanting to see the small villages and colonial heritage.

hot list cruises

The hot list: cruise

River cruising continues to grow in popularity - and Europe’s waterways are at the top of everyone’s wishlist. Titan notes the demand for sailings on the Danube is the highest going into 2019. The demand for cruises on the Rhine, Danube and Dutch Waterways saw the introduction of Titan’s second exclusive charter ship for 2019, the MS Bellejour.
