Escorted tours by private jet

Frequently asked questions

If you’ve read the brochure or seen our private jet itineraries online, you’ll know all about the incredible experiences we’ve lined up on these once-in-a-lifetime tours. You’ll also know you’ll be exploring some of the world’s most exotic and desirable destinations, and of course you’ll appreciate the luxury of flying business class throughout on a privately chartered plane.

However we’re sure there are other things you’d like to know too, which is why we put together this list of Frequently Asked Questions. These are mainly the things people most commonly ask our Travel Advisors, but we’ve also included details like menu choices in the restaurants, dress codes and dietary requirements, which were questions that came up during our first private jet tour, Captivating Cultures, which launched in 2023. We hope you’ll find these FAQs helpful but if there’s anything else you’d like to know, don’t hesitate to ask.

The size of the group depends on the itinerary you choose. The maximum number of people on Captivating Cultures is 68, and on Spice Journey (which flies on a larger Boeing 767 plane) the maximum is 79. Remember though, we split into smaller groups for individual tours and sightseeing, so although you may be travelling in a larger group as a whole (which is great for socialising and meeting new people) you’ll always get a more intimate, close-up experience when visiting places like an art gallery in Rome, desert camp in Wadi Rum, or fortress in India or Oman.

Our Product Managers are the best in the business, so when we asked them to secure some of the best hotels in the world for our private jet tours, they certainly rose to the occasion. We wanted these properties to be extra special, not just luxury but distinct and individual, where our customers could experience something truly memorable. And because the hotels are as much a part of our private jet tours as the experiences, the food and the plane itself, you can expect the highest levels of service and the warmest of welcomes every time you touch down. Most of the hotels are 5-star but occasionally (like in Wadi Rum and Madagascar) the accommodation is the very best available 4-star. All the hotels are described in detail in our Private Jet brochure which you can order for free or read online.

We always aim to be travelling at times when the weather is comfortable - not too hot or too cold. But, as weather is not always predictable, it’s a good idea to check ahead. Our website has lots of destination information and travel tips, often including things like climate and what to wear. Just search for the destination and then scroll to the bottom of the individual page to find a list of FAQs. Alternatively, our Travel Advisors are happy to offer help and advice on the countries visited.

For most of the meals included at restaurants or hotels, you can choose from a menu with three or four options for each course. However, there are occasions like the Arabian banquet in Petra or the beach barbecue on Zanzibar, when the meals are locally prepared for us on site, so the choices may be more limited at these times. In India, meals are occasionally served buffet-style, allowing you to choose the dishes and accompaniments that best suit your palate.

Again, while larger restaurants and hotels can cater for special dietary requirements when given sufficient notice, some of the smaller establishments (especially in less developed countries like Madagascar) are not so well equipped. That’s why it’s important to let us know of any dietary requirements well before you travel (at the time of booking if possible) so that we have plenty of time to make any necessary arrangements for you.

We suggest you wear loose, comfortable clothes on the plane, and bring shoes you’re happy to walk in (sometimes on uneven ground) for several hours each day. Lots of customers like to dress up in the evenings, especially if we’ve arranged something special like a banquet, sunset cruise or cocktail party. But ultimately it’s your holiday, so you can dress up or dress down as you wish!

These tours are designed to wow, with lots of incredible sights, moments and memories. You can expect at least one excursion most days, so you’ll need a reasonable level of fitness and good mobility to get the most out of the tour. However, we know downtime is important too, so we’ve allowed plenty of free time too so you can relax and enjoy the fabulous hotels, join an optional excursion, or head out and explore independently. The pace of both tours is 2-3 (moderate to faster) but the balance of included excursions with optional visits and free time means there is a degree of flexibility on both tours. In fact, after feedback from our first Captivating Cultures tour, we adjusted the itinerary slightly to give customers more time to relax and enjoy each magical destination.
