Spice Route Journey - From Aqaba to Venice by Private Jet

We love...

Walking through Petra’s famous Siq to emerge in front of the grand Treasury. Losing ourselves in the wondrous sights, sounds and spices on exotic Zanzibar. Soaking up the atmosphere and excitement at a Keralan snake boat regatta. Watching the sun set over the Arabian Sea from a traditional Omani dhow.

Inspired by the fabled Spice Route, our latest private jet tour follows the footsteps of ancient traders who brought exotic, highly sought-after spices like pepper, nutmeg, cinnamon and cardamom to the western world. It’s going to be an aromatic, delicious journey, brought to life with behind-the-scenes tours on spice farms and plantations, visits to lively souks and fragrant spice markets and exclusively chartered cruises on Kerala houseboats and Omani dhows. There’ll be 4WD tours over sand dunes and the chance to see Petra’s cinematic Treasury, creative workshops and art-themed walks in Venice, and banquets inspired by heritage recipes from the spice trade. A marque of all our private jet tours, we’ve selected exquisite hotels and the most elegant and exclusive restaurants as you explore the world’s greatest spice kingdoms in ultimate style.

Key information

A note about Ramadan Our Spice Route Journey takes place during the holy month of Ramadan when Muslims observe fasting from sunrise to sunset. It’s a fascinating time to travel, offering the chance to experience the rich traditions, hospitality and generosity associated with Ramadan. This custom is best seen at Iftar, the time every evening when fasting is broken and family and friends come together for hearty feasts. In Muslim-majority destinations like Zanzibar and Oman, it’s important we respect local customs and beliefs at this time and while we not required to fast, we may need to refrain from eating, drinking or smoking in public during daylight hours. Many restaurants, cafes and government-run buildings will be closed during daylight hours and alcohol might not be served even when they are open. Accommodation in Madagascar Madagascar has a low level of economic development and as a result, standards of accommodation and service can vary and might not always meet those expected in the West. Although we have selected one of the best available hotels in Antananarivo (a locally graded 5* property) in our opinion it is more suited to a 4* grading. However as Madagascar played such a key role in the spice industry, we felt it was important to include it on our tour. We also believe visitors will enjoy experiencing traditional Malagasy hospitality and immersing themselves in the local culture.
