Introducing the Glacier Express and Bernina Express
The Glacier Express has the reputation of being the 'slowest express train in the world'. But its fittingly 'glacial' pace just means you'll have even more time to admire the dramatic mountain scenery. During the seven-hour journey between St Moritz and Zermatt, you'll travel along the canyons of the Rhine Gorge, through spiral tunnels and over the 2,033-metre-high Oberalp Pass.
The narrow-gauge Bernina Express travels through the Swiss Alps between St Moritz and the Italian town of Tirano. As you follow the breathtaking route, you'll cross the famous Bernina Pass and traverse the Brusio circular viaduct (something of an engineering marvel).
