Enjoy exploring some of the varied and fascinating islands that exist so close to home, on this 14-day UK and Ireland cruise aboard Bolette. From southerly Falmouth and the Scilly Isles to Scotland’s collection of rugged isles, we’ll call at pretty harbours, little fishing villages, and Ireland’s port of Cobh. We’ll make an overnight stop in Belfast and call in at Douglas, the gateway to the Isle of Man’s rich history. We’ll also spend a day sailing in the Sound of Mull and past the basalt wonder of Fingal’s Cave.

    Day 2 - Falmouth

    Located at the southern end of the Fal Estuary, Falmouth is blessed with stunning sandy beaches that stretch for miles along the gorgeous Cornish coastline. You can simply enjoy a relaxing stroll, or there's an abundance of things to discover and explore, including St Michael's Mount, the Lizard Peninsula and the world-famous Eden Project.   • St Mary’s, Isles of Scilly

    Day 3 - St Mary’s, Isles of Scilly

    Today we visit the largest of the Isles of Scilly’s, St Mary’s. Three lovely beaches all close to each other, give you the opportunity to explore all whilst we are docked. Hugh Town is an essential, stroll past the churches, galleries, restaurants, shops, museums and lovely cafés. With its deserted sandy beaches, beautiful seascapes and dramatic rocky coves, you’re guaranteed a scenic walk. Ship to shore tender service.

    Days 4-5 - Belfast, Northern Ireland (overnight)

    Belfast is a historic city where RMS Titanic was built before her infamous maiden voyage. You may like to visit the city’s Titanic Belfast museum about the sunken ocean liner. Belfast is a mix of rugged coastline, historic castles and magnificent scenery - some of which you might have already seen in the well-known TV series ‘Game of Thrones’.

    Day 6 - Rothesay, Isle of Bute

    We make a stop at the Victorian seaside resort of Rothesay, on the Isle of Bute. Will you spend your day exploring the harbour, visiting Bute Museum or taking a trip to Castle Toward, a 19th-century country house? Ship to shore tender service.

    Day 7 - At sea

    Today is free as we continue our cruise. Enjoy a hearty breakfast then take your pick from the variety of activities on board. Show off your general knowledge in an afternoon or evening quiz. Try your hand at bridge, bingo or deck quoits. Or indulge in a traditional afternoon tea to while away your time. Top off the day with a sumptuous dinner or a simple tasty buffet.

    Day 8 - Kirkwall, Orkney Islands

    Kirkwall, Orkney Islands. Kirkwall, the capital of the Orkney Islands, echoes with Christian, Nordic and Celtic history. Highlights include the ruins of the Earl and Bishop’s palaces. You might want to visit impressive Neolithic monuments, including two ceremonial stone circles (the Stones of Stenness and the Ring of Brodgar); and Skara Brae, the best-preserved Stone Age village in Europe.

  • Rothesay, Isle of Bute

    Day 9 - Stornoway, Isle of Lewis

    We arrive in the main town of the Isle of Lewis, Stornoway, home to the Western Isles Council. With a low population, the local businesses are mainly fishing, farming and Harris Tweed, so you’re guaranteed to have a fresh meal from one of the local restaurants. Alternatively, you could take a stroll along the Stornoway Harbour or explore Lews Castle Grounds and Museum. Ship to shore tender service.

    Day 10 - Cruising the Sound of Mull - Dutchman’s Cap - Fingal’s Cave

    Cruising the Sound of Mull - Dutchman’s Cap - Fingal’s Cave. Today we’ll sail across the stunning Sound of Mull, passing 13th-century Duart Castle, Dutchman’s Cap which gained the name due to its shape, and past dramatic Fingal’s Cave, a basalt sea cave that’s home to guillemots, puffins, razorbills and more.

  • Stornoway, Isle of Lewis

    Day 11 - Douglas, Isle of Man

    The capital of the Isle of Man echoes with rich history. Highlights include the award-winning Manx Museum, the Tower of Refuge that was once built and served as a small castle-like shelter for shipwrecked sailors, and the Manx Electric Railway that began being built back in 1893. Douglas has a lot of shops and restaurants, so if you get tired sightseeing, there are plenty of lovely places for you to take a pit stop and try the traditional cuisine - Priddhas an’ Herrin (potatoes and herring). Ship to shore tender service.

  • Kirkwall, Orkney Islands

    Day 12 - Cobh, Ireland

    Located on the south coast of Ireland in County Cork, Cobh is a charming town with Victorian streetscapes and architecture. The well-known St Colman’s Cathedral is a big part of the town, its 49-bell carillon is a one-of-a-kind instrument in Ireland and the largest in Ireland and Britain. This historic town has countless sites of importance, including Cobh Heritage Centre and Ireland’s Alcatraz, Spike Island.

    If you’re still full of energy as we sail home, there‘s lots to fill your time - from quizzes, games and music recitals to walks on deck and dance classes. And of course there’s plenty of opportunity to enjoy all the tasty food options.
