This morning we begin with an orientation tour of Edinburgh by coach to help you acquaint yourself with the sights and sounds of this striking city. There is sure to be something for everyone, including history, culture and shopping. We visit the official Scottish residence, the Palace of Holyroodhouse. Built as an Augustinian monastery in 1128, James IV created the palace and was the first in a long list of kings and queens to reside here. This afternoon, we return to our hotel where the remainder of the day is at leisure. Or maybe stay in the city to visit Edinburgh Castle, a dominant feature on the skyline, or head to Princes Street for some last minute Christmas shopping. Enjoy dinner this evening, followed by festive entertainment.
