Day 1 - Southampton
Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home for your journey to Southampton. Embark our ship in preparation for a late afternoon sailing.
Days 2-3 - Falmouth (overnight)
Falmouth’s part in British history is small, but important. Henry VIII chose this as the location for Pendennis Castle. It played a part in British defence right through to World War II, when it commanded coastal artillery defences for Cornwall. The tower can be seen as we sail around its peninsula on our way into Falmouth. This prosperous maritime town provides opportunities to sail, or stay on land to stroll through peaceful gardens. It’s also ideally located for excursions to some of Cornwall’s popular attractions. You have two full days here so you might want to consider visiting the huge tropical biomes of the Eden Project or the beautifully restored Lost Gardens of Heligan.
Day 4 - Cruising the Isles of Scilly
Although they’re situated off the Cornish coast, in southwest England, the beautiful Isles of Scilly could easily fool you into thinking they’re actually part of some far-flung, exotic archipelago a world away from the British Isles. Surrounded by turquoise waters, and fringed by golden-sand beaches, these heathland isles are beautifully unspoilt, uncrowded and a sight to behold as you sail by on board your smaller-sized ship. Of the 140 Scilly Isles, only five are inhabited, and on these islands - including Tresco and St Mary’s - you’ll spot quintessential seaside towns and landmarks such as Cromwell Castle, which hints at the rich history of the archipelago.
Day 5 - Plymouth
Sir Francis Drake, Charles Darwin and Captain James Cook are just a few of the famous explorers who sailed from Plymouth on some of the great voyages of discovery. Amongst the city’s fantastic attractions are the Mayflower Steps, a monument at the spot the Pilgrims are believed to have boarded the Mayflower on 6 September 1620. Just behind it is a museum dedicated to their voyage to North America. Take to the sea on a boat tour around the Sound; discover its inhabitants at the National Marine Aquarium, or take in spectacular views from the top of Smeaton’s Tower lighthouse. There’s also the chance to visit the oldest gin distillery in England, or venture outside the city to beautiful Dartmoor National Park.
Day 6 Southampton
We arrive back early this morning and your Titan vehicle will be waiting for the journey home.
