Christmas Eve - Leeds Castle
We’ll take an included excursion to Leeds Castle, set in 500 acres of glorious gardens. The role of Leeds Castle over the centuries is varied and fascinating. Once a Norman stronghold, it was later occupied by six medieval queens as well as Henry VIII. It was also a Jacobean country house and a Georgian mansion and is now one of the most visited historic buildings in Britain. Step back in time, as you wander the property imagine the fashions and conversations that have taken place. You may choose to spend your free afternoon taking a leisurely stroll into Canterbury.
Christmas Day - Canterbury
A hearty breakfast will start your day of feasts and celebrations. This morning is free for you to enjoy as you wish - if you’d like to attend mass, information on local services will be available. After a traditional Christmas lunch is served, you can watch the Queen’s Speech this afternoon or simply relax.
Boxing Day - Canterbury
Join an included walk from the hotel to the centre of Canterbury, for a guided tour. A modern and vibrant city, it’s home to the UNESCO-listed ancient ruins of St Augustine's Abbey and St Martin's Church. Other ancient ruins such as the Norman castle and Roman town walls, are reminders of the city's rich heritage and culture. The rest of the day is free for you to explore - don’t miss stunning Canterbury Cathedral, the oldest church in Britain that is still in use.
