Day 1 London - San Francisco
Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home, for your journey to London Heathrow Airport for your direct, scheduled United Airlines flight to San Francisco. On arrival, transfer to the San Francisco Marriott Union Square (4T), for a two-night stay. We enjoy an included dinner tonight at the hotel.
Day 2 San Francisco
This morning we have arranged a city tour of San Francisco, which with its colourful mix of cultures, is one of the world’s most sophisticated cities. The afternoon is free to explore. A boat trip on the Bay is highly recommended, as is a visit to the famous Alcatraz prison.
Day 3 - San Francisco - Honolulu
Transfer to San Francisco Airport for a direct, scheduled United Airlines flight to Honolulu. On arrival we are met and transferred to the port to embark the Pride of America (3T), our home for the next seven nights. There is time to settle into your cabin before dinner is served this evening.
Day 4 - Kahului, Maui (overnight)
Pride of America docks in Kahului and remains in port overnight, allowing plenty of time to make your explorations of Maui’s biggest town, with a population of 17,000 inhabitants. Maui's biggest natural attraction is Haleakala National Park, the spot to watch the sun rise for amazing views. Check out Maui’s massive Haleakala volcano from bottom to top, as you journey from sea level to the summit to view spectacular island scenery and the immense crater of volcanic rock. At the summit is a vast crater seven and a half miles long, two and a half miles wide and 3,000 feet deep. It last erupted in 1790 and has slumbered ever since. The Road to Hana, a narrow, twisty road peppered with waterfalls and rainforest scenery, is another don't-miss excursion.
Day 5 - Kahului
Outside of the city you can visit the Alexander & Baldwin Sugar Museum, which allows you to look back to a life on Hawaii long gone. Maui originally consisted of two separate islands. The isthmus that was created between those two islands by erosion gave Maui the name ´The Valley Island´.
Day 6 - Hilo, Hawaii
Gaze up from this charming town and see snow-capped Mauna Kea volcano. It´s just one of the scenic marvels in this exotic greenhouse of lush tropical plants, towering banyan trees, thundering falls and enough flowers to fill a rainbow. Arid deserts, steaming fissures and volcanoes that blow their tops are just as impressive. Hilo, which rests on the crescent-shaped Hilo Bay, possesses a rich cultural history and it is here that King Kamehameha is said to have fulfilled a prophecy of uniting the Hawaiian Islands, by lifting the ancient Naha stone which now sits in front of the library.
Day 7 - Kona, Hawaii
There is a reason the island of Hawaii is called the Big Island - it's big enough to have two ports, Hilo and Kona. The latter’s sun-blessed coast stretches 80 miles along macadamia nut orchards, famous coffee plantations and some of the most important sites in Hawaiian history. Captain Cook came ashore here and died at the hands of angry natives. The coast is also famous for water sports, and the Hawaiian Ironman is a world-renowned annual event. Set out on a self-guided tour of historical sites near the port. Beaches, both volcanic black and powdery white, are great for water sports and there are also tours and tastings of the world-famous Kona coffee. For history and culture, head to the Puuhonua O Honaunau, the City of Refuge, to see ancient temples and fish ponds.
Day 8 - Nawiliwili, Kauai (overnight)
Named after the Wiliwili trees, which once lined its picturesque harbour, the lovely port of Kauai is your gateway to what many believe to be Hawaii's most beautiful island. On ‘The Garden Island’, nature is truly the star, from the dramatic mountains of Kokee to the cool rainforests of Haena. Waimea Canyon, called the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, is worthy of a day’s visit on its own, but you can combine a visit with a trip up the Wailua River to the Fern Grotto. Or drive up the canyon road to the summit and hop out along the way for a hike or photo opportunity. The island's Na’Pali coast is breathtaking to view by boat, helicopter, or as your vessel Pride of America does, a sail-by. We dock overnight, allowing lots of time to explore.
Day 9 - Nawiliwili
We remain in Nawiliwili this morning, before sailing early afternoon for Honolulu.
Day 10 Honolulu - In flight
An early morning arrival in Honolulu. After a leisurely breakfast, we transfer to the airport for a scheduled United Airlines flight to London, via Washington DC.
Day 11 London
Arrival at London Heathrow where you will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle for the journey home.
