This morning we dock in delightful Malmö, perfect for exploring with its historic districts of classic architecture and contrasting modern buildings. Diverse and interesting, Malmö is one of Sweden’s largest cosmopolitan cities and the Västra Hamnen - the West Harbour - is a perfect example of how the city has changed over time with its former industrial district now home to a stylish and carbon neutral area of lavish apartment buildings, grand office blocks, fine restaurants and trendy cafes. However, if it’s the city’s past you wish to discover, visit the delightful old district of Gamla Staden, characterised by charming streets and architecture in Gothic and Renaissance styles. The town is like a living museum and is home to a large number of historic buildings, monuments and churches from many centuries past.
