If you're looking for a mini cruise that's out of the ordinary, this 4-night trip delivers. You'll have the chance to explore Amsterdam on sightseeing trips such as a relaxing boat ride along its historic canals, or you can branch off on your own to explore the sights independently. You’ll then anchor off the beautiful archipelago of Heligoland, where very few cruise lines venture. And enjoy a full day in Zeebrugge, or amid the medieval charms of nearby Bruges.
Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home for your journey to Dover. On arrival, you’ll embark Spirit of Discovery (5T) ready for a late afternoon sailing.
Day 2 - Ijmuiden (Amsterdam), The Netherlands
The Netherlands’ bohemian and liberal capital is as famous for its carefree attitude as for its scenic network of historic canals and pretty bridges. There’s something for everyone, whether you wish to visit the house where Anne Frank and her family hid to evade capture by the Germans or to take in the bustling café culture, enjoy the artworks at the world-famous Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum, which includes masterpieces by Rembrandt and Vermeer, or enjoy a sedate sightseeing trip along the waterways by boat. For something a little different, join a trip to the beautiful town of Haarlem where you can enjoy an organ recital at St Bavo Church during a private visit.
Day 3 - Heligoland, Germany
After sailing eastwards through the North Sea, we’ll reach the two rocky islands of Heligoland which lie just 29 miles off the German coast. The island's history is unique - ruled by the Danes and then the British (who swapped it with the Germans for Zanzibar), and later became a German naval base during both World Wars. Today it's a popular island resort and a haven for migrating birds. Whether you wish to view these dramatic islands at street level, from the air or below ground, there’s an excursion to suit. Ship to shore tender service.
Day 4 - Zeebrugge (Bruges), Belgium
Bruges is a city locked in time and its medieval history is hard to miss as you stand in the main square - Grand Place - surrounded by Gothic buildings overseen by the 273-foot Belfry Tower. A canal boat ride is a must for first-time visitors, or you may be tempted to hop aboard a horse-drawn carriage to experience the sights. Continue on foot to discover this historic city's charm by exploring the compact cobbled streets where you'll find lace makers, chocolatiers and cafés at every turn. Art lovers can seek out miniature masterpieces from the 15th century Flemish Primitives movement in museums such as the Groeningemuseum. Alternatively, join an optional excursion and travel into the windmill-dotted Flemish countryside to visit the quaint village of Damme and its collection of bookshops, as well as the country-house style Castle of Loppem, or explore sites associated with the Great War.
Day 5 Dover
Early this morning we arrive back in Dover and your Titan vehicle will be waiting for the journey home.
