Day 1 - London - Málaga, Spain
Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home, for your journey to London Heathrow or Gatwick Airport and a British Airways or another leading airline flight to Málaga. On arrival, you are met by Voyages to Antiquity representatives and transferred to embark Aegean Odyssey (4T).
Day 2 - At sea
Enjoy a relaxing day on board your ship, with a programme of activities planned.
Day 3 - Cruising Guadalquivir River - Seville (overnight)
Cruise along the Guadalquivir River to Seville, where we dock overnight.
Day 4 - Seville
Today, enjoy a city tour of Seville, said to be founded by Hercules 3,000 years ago. The romantic city is home to spectacular monuments including the 15th century Cathedral of Seville standing on the site of the historic 12th century Almohad Mosque. We visit Seville’s Alcazar, a 14th century royal palace still used by the Spanish royal family today. Alternatively there is an optional excursion to Córdoba.
Day 5 - Cadiz
Today, you have a choice of two excursions in Cadiz, on the first you’ll enjoy a scenic drive to Jerez de la Frontera, known for being home to a number of world-famous sherry companies and here you can visit the wine cellars and taste delicious samples of a variety of fortified wines. On the second, you’ll tour the city, visiting a tobacco factory built in 1741, Phoenician port of La Caleta and the old town, with time to explore the wonderful 18th century Baroque and neo-classical cathedral.
Casablanca - Fez, Morocco
This morning we disembark in Casablanca and drive to Fez, where there will be time for afternoon sightseeing, before continuing to our hotel for the night.
Day 7 - Fez - Rabat - Casablanca (overnight)
We drive to Morocco’s capital, Rabat, brimming with cultural history having been governed by Roman, Arab, French, Spanish, Berber, Moroccan and British rulers. Tour the monuments of the city including the fascinating Hassan Tower, Kasbah of the Udayas and Mohamed V Mausoleum. You’ll also visit the port - a valuable asset for the city having been used by many conquerors during its early history - and the old medina. Continue by driving to Casablanca in the afternoon to rejoin the ship.
Casablanca - Marrakech
Marrakech, a bustling, cultural North African city, is a perfect place to explore with unique mosques, hammams, traditional public bakeries and beautifully kuffic-inscripted fountains. After a colourful, sightseeing walk through the city you’ll visit the exquisite Bahia Palace and Moorish-style garden, Djemma el-Fna Square, a place memorable for playing host to celebrations and entertainment throughout the ages. The Majorelle Garden is an unmissable highlight of the tour; a 12-acre botanical garden designed in the 1920s and 1930s and founded by Jacques Majorelle - whose ceramics, jewellery and paintings can still be found there. We stay overnight at a hotel.
Day 9 - Marrakech - Agadir
Visit Taroudant, an old trading centre recognised as the ‘Little Marrakech’. Situated in the Souss Valley, the town holds true individuality, with wonderful red-mud walls and citrus groves everywhere in sight, making it a great place for tourists to explore. Alongside its attraction for tourists, Taroudant is also a working town, where Berbers trade their produce. We rejoin the ship and sail this evening from Agadir.
Day 10 - Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain
Today there is a choice of two excursions. Explore Northern Lanzarote, visiting Haria, Maguez and the town of Ye with the Mirador del Rio. Situated 479m on the top of the Famara Massivem, it offers a truly remarkable view of islands north of Lanzarote. Or, visit the National Park Timanfaya to capture the famous Fire Mountains of Lanzarote. Here, you will visit the crater and active volcanoes and listen to a well-known priest, who lived through an eruption that tragically affected a large landscape of the south of the island, relive his experience.
Day 11 - La Palma, Canary Islands
You have the option of two separate tours today in La Palma. On the first you’ll travel to El Paso, known for its beautiful views of the mountains forming the Caldera de Taburiente that surround the village. After admiring the scenery we will visit the Silk Museum until continuing on to La Glorieta Square, an outstanding design that reflects La Palma’s wonderful fauna and flora. On the second, enjoy a short drive to the Santuario de la Virgen de las Nieves, a 17th century church surrounded by trees and gardens. The wonderful ornate interior, myriad sculptures, crystal chandeliers and glistening altar are some of the highlights when exploring inside. Next, continue onwards to Mirador de la Cumbrecita for a guided tour around the Caldera de Taburiente National Park, the park offers plenty of outstanding views because of its 8km diameter and circumference of almost 20km.
Day 12 Tenerife - London
Transfer to Tenerife Airport for a British Airways or another leading airline flight to London Heathrow or Gatwick Airport. Upon arrival you will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.
