Afternoon tea and exotic botanical gardens are two of the main draws to this subtropical island. But at Christmas time, it’s the colourful displays of festive lights and decorations (and the promise of mild winter evenings) that make Madeira so special. Festive Funchal is truly picturesque, but we’ll also explore the island’s rugged mountain interior, sweeping valleys and rocky coastline. There’ll be no shortage of magical moments on this festive break.
