Traverse this 62-mile, man-made waterway from the North Sea to the Baltic.

Day 4 - Aalborg, Denmark

Walk in the footsteps of the Vikings on an optional excursion to Lindholm Høje, where more than 680 Viking burial mounds and a Germanic Iron Age village were preserved by the drifting sands in around 1,000AD. The on-site museum has exhibitions about the Vikings at Lindholm Høje and the history of the area.

Day 5 - Aarhus

Arrive in the bustling harbour of Aarhus, which has been appointed European Capital of Culture for 2017 and will be hosting a year of cultural events. Venture into the centre to see a number of highlights such as the City Hall, a unique building designed by famous architect Arne Jacobsen, and the University of Aarhus. There’s a picturesque Botanical Garden and an open-air museum displaying a collection of historical buildings from around the country.

Day 6 - Copenhagen

A skyline of spires will greet you on your arrival at the Danish capital which sits on the coastal islands of Zealand and Amager. There are many city sights, such as Tivoli Gardens, the Little Mermaid and Amalienborg Palace, some of which you can see on a cruise along the criss-crossing waterways. You may like to tour Frederiksborg Castle or perhaps discover the medieval fishing village of Dragoer.

Days 7-8 - Sandefjord (Oslo), Norway (overnight)

We dock overnight in the ancient Viking port of Sandefjord, from where you can join an optional excursion to Oslo, Norway’s lively capital, on day 8. Perhaps explore the city’s main pedestrian street, Karl Johansgate, or visit some of the museums and galleries. With its boulevards, leafy parks and well-manicured gardens, it’s a great place to spend a whole day.

Day 9 - Skagen, Denmark

The medieval fishing town of Skagen sits on the northern tip of Jutland, which is shaped by its dunes and the constant shifting of sand. 14th-century St Laurence church has witnessed first-hand the effects of the moving dunes which have buried all but the tower.

Day 10 - At sea

Disembark Saga Sapphire after breakfast. You will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle for the journey home.
