Day 2 - At sea
A day at sea to relax and familiarise yourself with your surroundings. Perhaps relax on deck by the pool with a good book from the well-stocked library or enjoy a luxurious spa treatment.
Day 3 - Cruising Lysefjord - Preikestolen & Kjerag - Karmsund
Enjoy some of the most spectacular scenery on earth today as we cruise along the stunning Lysefjord, home to a 604-metre flat mountain plateau, the beautiful Kjerag Mountain and the intriguing Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock), wedged high in a mountain crevice.
Day 4 - Eidfjord - Cruise Hardangerfjord
The picture-perfect scenery continues today as we arrive in Eidfjord. This tranquil village is caught between the fjord’s glassy waters and soaring mountains, with lush gardens and fields running for miles. The infamous Varingfoss waterfall, a tumbling natural beauty set deep in the mountains of Hardangerfjord with a vertical drop of approximately 180 metres, is worth a visit. Our cruise continues through the spectacular Hardangerfjord, 197km of towering mountains, waterfalls and idyllic orchards.
Day 5 - Flåm - Cruising Naerøyfjord
Flåm is a tiny village on the banks of the Aurlandsfjord, in an utterly spectacular setting. The waterside hamlets and farmland make for a lovely stroll, but the village is best known for its railway. Climbing over 20km and almost a thousand metres, the track meanders in and out of mountains, and past waterfalls and ravines, including beautiful Kjosfossen waterfall where the train pauses for a photo opportunity. Flåmsbana Museum tells the story of this great engineering feat. Later in the day, cruise along the Nærøyfjord - rated by National Geographic as the world's number one natural heritage site. Ship to shore tender service.
Day 6 - Olden - Cruising Nordfjord and Hornelen
We arrive this morning into the picturesque village of Olden, situated at the tip on the innermost arm of the Nordfjord, where steep mountains tower over both sides of the valley. A choice of optional shore excursions will be available, including the opportunity to take a hike up a track that ascends high above a waterfall to observe the range of blues and turquoises that the ice of the Briksdal Glacier reflects. Later this evening we cruise Nordfjord and alongside Hornelen, home to Europe’s highest sea cliff.
Day 7 - Geiranger - More og Romsdal - cruising Geirangerfjord and Sunnylvsfjorden
The hour-long cruise from Hellesylt, at the mouth of Geirangerfjord, to Geiranger is a breathtaking experience. Farms cling to near vertical cliffs and waterfalls, including the Seven Sisters, the Suitor and the Bridal Veil, tumble down into the clear blue water. It’s a place that encourages adventure, whether it’s a trip aboard an inflatable boat, a challenging cycle on Mount Dalsnibba, a leisurely stroll from Geiranger, or letting a coach take the challenge as it climbs a steep road for fantastic views.
Day 8 - Bergen
Enjoy a full day in Bergen, with its dramatic mountain backdrop, and where you can easily explore the attractive renovated waterfront area with its colourful mix of cobbled streets, charming houses from the Hanseatic period, colonnaded shops and fascinating fish market. Whilst here, you may choose to take an optional excursion to the lakeside home of composer Edvard Grieg at Troldhaugen, set amid glorious countryside, or perhaps an enjoyable trip to the top of Mount Fløyen with its panoramic views. Late evening sailing.
Day 9 - At sea
A final indulgent day on board as we sail home.
