Day 2 - At sea
Enjoy a relaxing day as we sail across the North Sea. Maybe take a dip in the pool, or try out the tennis court.
Day 3 - Hamburg, Germany
This morning we arrive in Germany’s second-largest city, Hamburg. The imposing 19th century Rathaus (Town Hall), the Baroque St Michaelis Church and Miniatur Wunderland - the world’s biggest model railway system, are just some of the highlights. Also worth a visit is the Hamburg Kunsthalle, which displays works by Rembrandt, Rubens and Paul Klee among others. You could also just relax in Hamburg’s ‘green heart’ - the attractive city-centre park known as Planten un Blomen. We leave late afternoon.
Day 4 - At sea
Another leisurely day aboard Norwegian Jade as we make our way towards Norway.
Day 5 - Skjolden, Norway
Our first port of call in Norway is the pretty village of Skjolden, located at the head of the Sognefjord, the world's longest navigable fjord, and watched over by northern Europe’s highest mountain range, Jotunheimen. The town is also home to Norway’s oldest stave church, Urnes Church, built around 1130 and today a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 6 - Olden
The small, peaceful town of Olden, situated at the end of beautiful Nordfjord, is surrounded on three sides by mainland Europe’s largest glacier - the Jostedalsbre. This stunning, 188 square mile phenomenon sits within Jostedalsbreen National Park, a dramatic place of towering mountains, foaming waterfalls and steep, lush valleys filled with calm glacial lakes.
Day 7 - Ålesund
Ålesund was almost entirely destroyed in one night in 1904 by a fire which swept through the town’s wooden buildings, but was soon rebuilt in the fashionable Art Nouveau style. Today it is renowned for its unique architecture and you can learn more at the Jugendstilsenteret, which features some of the town’s finest Art Nouveau interiors. For panoramic views of the town, walk up the 418 steps leading to the summit of Mount Aksla, while also of interest is the Atlanterhavsparken aquarium, showcasing marine life from the Atlantic Ocean.
Day 8 - Bergen
Popularly known as the ‘gateway to the fjords’, Bergen is a joy to explore. Take a stroll around the Hanseatic Wharf, with its colourful timbered houses, restaurants and shops, and visit the medieval Haakon’s Hall, built as a royal residence and banqueting hall 750 years ago. Music lovers will appreciate a visit to Troldhaugen, once the home of Norway’s best-known composer, Edvard Grieg, and now a museum. We leave Bergen early this evening.
Day 9 - At sea
Catch up with friends over coffee or unwind with a massage in the spa centre as we sail homeward.
Day 10 Southampton
Morning arrival back in Southampton where you will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.
