  • Day 2 - Cruising Lysefjord, Norway

Early this morning, experience an unforgettable scenic cruise along beautiful Lysefjord, a stunning example of how spectacular the Norwegian fjords really are. Lysefjord is a size-restricted waterway carved 40km into Norway’s breathtaking west coast, which means only small ships like Balmoral can cruise past its tumbling waterfalls, wonderful wildlife and pretty settlements dotted along the shores.

    Balmoral (3.5-star)

  • Day 3 - Bergen

We arrive in Bergen this morning, one of the great Hanseatic ports. This maritime heritage is recalled by the 900-year-old Bryggen Wharf, with its splendid museum. Take some time to explore the delightful wharf with its narrow streets that climb away from the waterfront and visit the interesting shops, colourful half-timbered houses and cobbled stairways. Bergen is framed by seven magnificent hills, the highest of which can be reached by a funicular railway. There are spectacular views down to the harbourside, where cafés, bars and restaurants welcome visitors from around the world. Bergen was the home of Norway’s most famous composer, Edvard Grieg, and the Troldhaugen is a museum devoted to his life.

    Balmoral (3.5-star)

  • Day 4 - Flåm - Cruising Nærøyfjord

Your cruise docks in Flåm early this morning, a tiny village on the banks of Aurlandsfjord - one of the branches of beautiful Sognefjord, the longest and deepest fjord in Europe. Why not take a stroll along the waterside, passing orchards and hamlets, cottages and farmland. Flåm is also perfectly placed if you wish to explore beautiful Nærøyfjord. Late into the evening we cruise Nærøyfjord, rated by National Geographic as the world’s number one national heritage site. Ship to shore tender service.

    Balmoral (3.5-star)

  • Day 5 - Olden - Cruising Nordfjord and Hornelen

Early this morning we dock in Olden, where the magnificent Nordfjord divides into three arms beneath the glaciers of Jostedalsbreen. In the centre of the village is the Old Church built in 1759, and the Singerheimen, the former home of the millionaire founder of the sewing machine company. Later this afternoon we cruise along Nordfjord, one of Norway’s longest and most picturesque fjords, before arriving at Hornelen. Ship to shore tender service.

    Balmoral (3.5-star)

  • Day 6 - Hellesylt - Cruising Geraingerfjord, Seven Sisters Waterfall, Sunnylvsfjorden, Strandafjellet and Hjørundfjord

A day of scenic splendours await, starting with Hellesylt in More og Romsdal. Gaze at pretty farmhouses and historic structures surrounded by spectacular peaks and cascading waterfalls, it is also the gateway to the UNESCO-listed Geirangerfjord. In the afternoon we cruise the majestic snow-capped mountains and thundering waterfalls of Geirangerfjord and Sunnylvsfjorden, and past Seven Sisters Waterfall where you will have the opportunity to marvel at the seven tumbling streams of Norwegian legend. Later this afternoon, we cruise past Strandafjellet Mountain, located in the Sunnmøre mountain range, and Hjørundfjord to witness some breathtaking scenery along one of Norway’s longest and most spectacular waterways.
