Day 1 - Southampton
Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home for your journey to Southampton. Embark Black Watch (3T+) in preparation for a late afternoon sailing.
Day 2 - 3 - At sea
Day 4 - Ålesund, Norway
We’ll arrive in Ålesund early this morning. This waterside town is all about art nouveau architecture - a wander through its streets will reveal turrets, towers, spires and ornate balconies.
Warm up with a coffee or hot chocolate in one of the cosy cafés and perhaps pop into an art gallery. Or bundle up for a walk up Mount Aksla - your reward for scaling the 418 steps will be wonderful views across the town and island-speckled waters beyond.
Day 5 - Trondheim
Trondheim was Norway’s first capital, founded more than a thousand years ago by a Viking king. It’s a walkable city, with most attractions squeezed onto a small island accessible via a series of bridges.
There’s plenty to do: step inside the medieval cathedral; browse the unique shops and vintage stores in historic Bakklandet; admire the brightly coloured warehouses down by the water; or stop by a museum or two.
Day 6 - At sea
Day 7 - 8 - Tromsø (overnight)
After crossing the Arctic Circle, you’ll now have two days to enjoy the delights of Tromsø. Our stay here coincides with Sami National Day - we’ll have the chance to experience the celebrations, which see yoik choirs performing and locals donning the traditional Sami dress.
Staying overnight means we’ll have an opportunity to go in search of the Northern Lights. If we’re lucky, we’ll catch a glimpse of them dancing across the night sky - an unforgettable experience. There will also be time to see the iconic Arctic Cathedral, take the cable car to the peak of Storsteinen Mountain (expect stunning panoramas over the snowy scenes below), or visit the fascinating Perspektivet Museum.
Day 9 - 10 - Alta (overnight)
Alta is considered one of the best places in the world to see the Northern Lights, so an overnight stay gives us another chance to try and spot the elusive aurora. The city has a rich Sami heritage, so it’s a great place to learn a little more about the culture.
The surrounding landscapes are ideal for sledding, so you might choose to take an exhilarating dog-sledding excursion through the snow-blanketed fields and forests. We set sail early afternoon on day 10.
Day 12 - Kristiansund
This morning, we’ll call in at Kristiansund. Spread across four bridge-connected islands on the Western Cape, it’s a lovely place to spend a few hours. Stroll past the opera house (Norway’s oldest), soak up the views along the harbour, and uncover the history of klippfisk (salted cod) at the town’s quirky museum.
Kristiansund also acts as a gateway to the Atlantic Ocean Road. Weaving between islands and islets, it’s one of the most photographed highways in the world (and, on a windy or stormy day, one of the most dramatic).
Day 13 - 14 - At sea
Day 15 Southampton
We arrive back in Southampton early this morning, disembarking after breakfast. Upon arrival, your Titan vehicle will be waiting for the journey home.
