Day 3 Cruising Karmsund, Norway - Rosendal - Cruising Maurangerfjord and Furebergfosse
Karmsund, The narrow waterway of Karmsund is only navigable by smaller ships like Boudicca, meaning we can sail in this beautiful region, taking in views of pretty towns and gorgeous countryside scenes. Tucked away between majestic mountains and rolling valleys at the heart of Hardangerfjord, picturesque Rosendal is a truly memorable experience, not least because of the stunning journey along Norway’s second longest fjord to get to it. This pretty village can be explored on or take the opportunity to explore the natural scenery further inland at Folgefonna National Park. Ship to shore tender service. Later, Boudicca sails through Maurangerfjord, past the pretty Furebergfossen Waterfall.
Day 4 Eidfjord
This picturesque village sits before snow-peaked mountains engraved with glistening rivers and tumbling waterfalls. Hiking is popular here, so don’t forget some suitable shoes to explore the network of marked trails. Alternatively, visitors can head for the amazing Hardangervidda Nature Centre or the Voringfossen Waterfall.
Day 5 Flåm - Cruising Nærøyfjord - Gudvangen
There’ll be more dramatic views as we sail into Flåm. Visitors are often drawn to the tiny village’s traditional church, or nearby Naeroyfjord, one of National Geographic’s top natural heritage sites. It’s most popular draw however, is the Flåmsbana Railway. The route takes you through 20km of incredible mountain scenery, with waterfalls crashing down over 200 metres. We return to the ship late this afternoon to cruise along the spectacular Sognefjord. Ship to shore tender service.
Day 6 Stavanger
As a former European Capital of Culture, Stavanger has plenty of history, tradition and charm to discover. It’s also perfectly placed for Lysefjord, a stunning waterway famous for the Kjerag Mountain and Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) - two of the country’s most impressive attractions.
Day 7 At sea
As we sail home you may want to rest after all your sightseeing. If you’re still full of energy, there‘s lots to fill your time - from quizzes, games and music recitals to walks on deck and dance classes. And of course there’s plenty of opportunity to enjoy all the tasty food options.
