Day 3 - Gothenburg, Sweden
Enjoy the journey as you glide up the Göta Älv to Sweden’s second largest city. Gothenburg’s thriving cultural scene, coupled with its elegant art nouveau architecture and wide open green spaces, makes it a real treat to explore. Perhaps wander the cobbled streets of the Haga district where you can admire quaint wooden houses, browse trendy boutiques and sample savoury treats at one the patisseries. Or maybe indulge your inner child at the Liseberg amusement park, one of Sweden’s most popular attractions, or take a boat trip around the canals and harbour.
Day 4 - At sea
Days 5 - 6 - Stockholm (overnight)
Stand on deck as we navigate the Stockholm Archipelago. Once ashore, perhaps seek out the ornate churches, elegant squares, museums and the Royal Palace of Sweden’s enchanting capital, or explore the surrounding waterways further on a boat trip. From here you can also visit the Skansen open-air museum to experience Sweden’s traditional culture and history. We’ll remained moored through the night in Stockholm, the perfect excuse to spend the evening enjoying the vibrant café culture in Gamla Stan, the city’s medieval heart.
Day 7 - Helsinki, Finland
Helsinki frequently features as one of world’s most liveable cities. There are museums and galleries galore verifying Helsinki’s claim as a City of Design, while landmark sights include the neo-classical architecture of Senate Square. Here you can admire four historic buildings designed by Carl Ludvig Engel, dominated by Helsinki Cathedral. Explore the streets that fan out from the waterfront to find examples of other architectural styles, from the Byzantine-Russian style Uspenski Cathedral, to art nouveau Jugendsali Hall and Modernist Temppeliaukio ‘Rock’ Church.
Days 8 - 9 - St Petersburg, Russia (overnight)
Two full days in St Petersburg gives you time to discover a showcase of art, architecture and culture. The dream of Peter the Great and Russia’s capital for two centuries, a sense of grandeur and history resonates throughout the squares and canal-front buildings. Our collection of excursions allows you to seek out must-see sights such as the fascinating Hermitage State Museum with its world-class collection and the ornate Catherine Palace. For a memorable evening ashore, you may like to attend a folkloric show before returning to the ship.
Day 10 - Tallinn, Estonia
Cruise across the Gulf of Finland, the eastern arm of the Baltic Sea, to reach the Estonian capital of Tallinn. Its UNESCO-listed old town is one reason to visit: with soaring turrets, Gothic spires and medieval market squares confined within watchtower studded walls. Then there’s the city’s secretive Cold War history which you can uncover at the KGB Museum on the 23rd floor of the Soviet era Hotel Viru. Perhaps venture outside the old city limits to visit Kadriorg Park, which was founded by Peter the Great and is the setting for the baroque palace he dedicated to his wife, Catherine.
Day 11 - At sea
Day 12 - Kalundborg (Copenhagen), Denmark
Berth in the port city of Kalundborg, with its beautifully preserved medieval buildings. You can visit Copenhagen with its skyline of spires and explore Nyhavn, an atmospheric hub with colourful weather-beaten 17th century houses lining the waterfront.
Day 13 - Aalborg
Walk in the footsteps of the Vikings or shop till you drop, the choice is yours in the attractive waterside city of Aalborg. Join us on a trip to Lindholm Høje, where more than 680 Viking burial mounds and a Germanic Iron-Age village were buried by sand around AD 1000, then unearthed during excavations in the 1950s. An onsite museum has two exhibitions - one about the Vikings at Lindholm Høje and another on the history of the area. Alternatively, you’ll be able to explore the island’s role in Hitler’s ‘Atlantic Wall’.
Day 14 - At sea
Day 15 Dover
Early this morning we arrive back in Dover and your Titan vehicle will be waiting for the journey home.
