Day 1 - Southampton
Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home for your journey to Southampton. Embark Braemar (3.5-star) in preparation for a late afternoon sailing.
Day 2 - At sea
As we make our way towards France, you’re free to do as much (or as little) as you wish. Maybe start your day off with a brisk walk around the deck. Or opt for a yoga class. Spend the afternoon learning a craft, or perfecting your golf swing. After your choice of dinner, you can catch a show or dance into the night.
Day 3 - Cruising Gironde & Garonne Rivers - Bordeaux, France (overnight)
After sailing along the French coast, we begin our journey inland, cruising along the Gironde and Garonne rivers through lovely French countryside and charming historic towns. We reach Bordeaux early this evening, where we remain overnight.
Day 4 - Bordeaux
Wake in Bordeaux, and venture ashore. Enjoy views of far-reaching vineyards and maybe sample an award-winning vintage or visit the Cité du Vin wine museum. Or maybe spend your day discovering Bordeaux’s secret attractions. This exciting, UNESCO-listed city of art is home to 362 historic monuments, with some buildings dating back to Roman times. Must-sees include the grand Place de la Bourse, and the Place des Quinconces, a huge, tree-lined square with wonderful statues and fountains.
Day 5 - Santander, Spain
If you’re looking for a city with elegance in a beautiful setting, Santander will tick those boxes. Stretching along a peninsula, pale buildings such as the octagonal cupola and Gothic cloisters of the Catedral de Santander look particularly impressive against the turquoise sea. It’s also worth seeing the Altamira Caves, a few miles outside the city, which contain some of the most important cave paintings of Quaternary art. After sightseeing, take a stroll in the tranquil tropical gardens and along sandy beaches.
Day 6 - Avilés
A former maritime and farming town, the scenic city of Avilés is now one of the country’s most important industrial centres. The largely pedestrianised Old Town quarter is its finest feature. Pretty boulevards link historic squares, plazas, and a collection of stunning buildings. These include Camposagrado Palace, the medieval Palacio de Valdecarzana and outstanding Gothic churches such as San Nicolás and San Francisco.
Day 7 - La Coruña
The diverse architectural styles of La Coruña make the city an absolute delight for sightseeing. Stroll along the seafront promenade, or jump down to feel the sand between your toes, and continue a little further to Torre de Hercules - the only Roman lighthouse still in existence. Or explore the narrow lanes and arcaded plaza within the crumbling Roman city walls, to find statues and museums dedicated to the city’s story.
Day 8 - At sea
After all your sightseeing, you may want to rest as we sail home. If you’re still full of energy, there‘s lots to fill your time - from quizzes, games and music recitals to walks on deck and dance classes. And of course there’s plenty of opportunity to enjoy all the tasty food options.
Day 9 Southampton
We disembark after breakfast. Your Titan vehicle will be waiting for the journey home.
