Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from your home, for your flight to Budapest. Upon arrival, embark MS Serenade 1 (4T), where light refreshments are available. A welcome cocktail and captain’s gala dinner are served this evening.
Day 2 - Budapest
An optional tour this morning introduces you to this fascinating city. With many monuments reflecting its long history, from Roman, Turk and Ottoman occupation, as well as riverside promenades, flea markets and antique shops, there are many to choose from. After lunch we sail through the Hungarian countryside towards Austria.
Day 3 - Vienna
We arrive after lunch into Vienna, one of Europe’s most beautiful cities with a rich culture of arts and music, and proud to be able to list a large number of highly esteemed composers as past inhabitants, including Mozart, Brahms and Schubert. We embark on a city tour by coach to introduce you to the fine Baroque churches, palaces and concert halls.
Day 4 - Melk
We arrive in the sleepy town of Melk this morning, dominated by its resplendent Benedictine abbey, which we visit as an included excursion. The Baroque monastery encompasses a particularly impressive church embellished with gold, marble and many frescoes. We sail in the early afternoon.
Day 5 - Passau
A morning in Passau, the town built on the confluence of the rivers Danube, Inn and Ilz. Spend your time discovering the city at leisure or on an optional guided walking tour. Through its Old Town, the 17th century creation of Italian Baroque masters, cobblestone streets take you up to St Stephen’s Cathedral, home to the world’s largest cathedral organ. This afternoon we continue further into the heart of Germany.
Day 6 - Regensburg
Regensburg is one of Germany’s best-preserved medieval cities and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to architectural treasures such as the Porta Praetoria, a Roman gateway built in AD 179 and the Gothic St Peter’s Cathedral. Our included excursion today is to the Benedictine Weltenburg Abbey, which was founded in the 7th century. It also houses what is said to be the oldest monastic brewery in the world, producing several high quality beers. We sail this afternoon towards Nuremberg.
Day 7 - Nuremberg
Enjoy a full day in Nuremberg. For centuries, this Bavarian city was the unofficial capital of the Holy Roman Empire, and was one of the main centres of the German Renaissance. It was also the scene of Nazi rallies during the days of the Third Reich, and of the War Crimes Tribunal held in 1946. Our optional city tour takes in the sights of this fascinating city this morning, including the 900-year-old ramparts, towers and walls of the Imperial Castle that surround the historic city centre and the house where artist Albrecht Dürer once lived.
Nuremberg - Prague
We disembark this morning and make our way to Prague, stopping en route with time to purchase lunch. We arrive later today at our hotel, the Ambassador - Zlatá Husa (4T) or similar, where we stay for two nights.
This morning, an included guided tour takes us to this city’s many highlights, including Prague Castle, St George’s Basilica, the Old Palace and Golden Lane. The rest of the day is free and a coach will be available to and from the hotel, to explore this lovely city considered one of Europe’s most attractive capitals. Perhaps wander across one of the many bridges that span the River Vltava, with views of the magnificent Baroque and Romanesque architecture.
Day 10 Prague - UK
We transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. Upon arrival, your Titan vehicle will be waiting for the journey home.
