Day 1 UK - Budapest
Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home for your flight to Budapest. Meet your Uniworld Representative on arrival and transfer to the port to embark S.S. Beatrice (5-star) or River Duchess (5-star).
Day 2 Budapest - Cruising the Danube River
Located on opposite sides of the Danube, Buda and Pest each has a distinctive character and allure all of its own. Explore this dynamic and multi-faceted city with your choice of excursions - you can see it from a local’s perspective on our exclusive walking tour, or cover more ground with a panoramic tour. Cap your day off with the Captain’s welcome reception and gala dinner.
Day 3 Cruising the Danube River - Vukovar (Osijek)
The ancient country of Croatia has made a remarkable recovery from a brutal civil war and is noted for its beautiful countryside and thriving folk traditions. You’ll dock in Vukovar, Croatia’s biggest port, at the confluence of the Danube and Vuka rivers and can choose to explore here, or take a full-day tour to Osijek.
Day 4 Belgrade
Explore Belgrade, the modern-day capital of Serbia and one of Europe’s oldest cities. Join a panoramic tour that includes a visit to the Royal Palace. Alternatively, opt for a guided bike tour highlighting historic sites dating from WWII to the present day.
Day 5 Golubac - Cruising the Iron Gates
Today’s main attraction will be the spectacular scenery along the Danube, as you cruise a stretch of gorges known as the Iron Gates. Later, head ashore to explore the Palaeolithic site of Lepenski Vir and the extraordinary well-preserved medieval fortress of Golubac Castle.
Day 6 Vidin - Cruising the Danube River
From Vidin, join an unusual excursion to the fascinating Belogradchik rock formations - over 200 million years old.
Day 7 Rousse (Veliko Tarnovo and Arbanassi or Rousse and Ivanovo)
Visit two historic hill towns, Veliko Tarnovo and Arbanassi, home to six amazing 17th century stone churches and then enjoy a traditional Bulgarian country lunch. Alternatively, spend time in Rousse and then visit the UNESCO-designated cave churches of Ivanovo and the Basarbovo Rock Monastery. Later, enjoy the Captain’s farewell reception and gala dinner.
Day 8 Giurgiu - Bucharest
Disembark the ship and transfer by coach to Bucharest, where we spend the next two nights. A panoramic tour highlights the city’s eclectic mix of architecture, including the People’s Palace - the world’s largest civilian building. If you prefer to do as the locals do, enjoy a leisurely walk as you take in their favourite sights and taste some of their favourite appetisers.
Day 9 Bucharest
At the end of a quiet, tree-lined street, is one of the wealthiest districts of Bucharest. There, sits a seemingly unassuming villa hiding a unique history. Today, you will explore the extravagant interior and grounds of Ceausescu’s Palace for yourself, with a history lesson on its infamous former residents.
Day 10 Bucharest - UK
Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. Upon arrival your Titan vehicle will be waiting for the journey home.
