Day 1 - UK - Amsterdam - Lemmer
Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home for your flight to Amsterdam. On arrival, we transfer to the port to embark MS Johannes Brahms (3T+). Enjoy dinner as we cruise to Lemmer, where we dock overnight.
Day 2 - Groningen
We arrive in Groningen after lunch, for time to explore the ancient city. The iconic church tower has stood proudly since the Golden Age and houses a collection of 16th century tombs and striking original paintwork. The bustle of the vibrant and youthful city centres on the main square, Grote Markt. You may like to join an optional canal cruise to take in the historical buildings.
Day 3 - Groningen - Oldenburg
We spend today cruising to Oldenburg and en route, we’ll stop for those who wish to join an optional excursion to Meyer Shipyard, for views of large cruise ships under construction and an insight into the mechanics that have changed production over the last 200 years. In Oldenburg, we dock overnight.
Day 4 - Oldenburg - Bremen
Enjoy a leisurely start as our cruise continues early this morning, arriving in Bremen this afternoon. Disembark here to enjoy an included tour of this Hanseatic city’s many attractions. The city’s oldest district, the Schnoor quarter, is a maze of delightful streets with 15th and 16th century houses. St Peter’s Cathedral and the splendid town hall are also worth a visit.
Day 5 - Bremen - Nienburg
After a morning cruising, you’ll enjoy some free time this afternoon to wander the town of Nienburg. Situated along the scenic German Timber-Frame Road, expect to see pretty cobblestoned lanes, gabled houses, and picture perfect squares aplenty. Many legends and fairy tales have flourished in the old town over the centuries. Nienburg’s symbolic figure, the ‘Little Nienburger Girl’ can be admired - her melody is played on the chimes on the front of the post court building.
Day 6 - Nienburg - Hanover
A stop in Stolzenau allows for an excursion to one of Europe’s oldest royal houses, the fascinating Marienburg Castle. The splendid neo-gothic masterpiece has stood proudly since it was built by King George V in the mid-19th century. In the summer, the Castle is used as a venue for live music and plays. We board again in Minden before sailing on to Hanover, where our ship docks overnight.
Day 7 - Hanover - Wolfsburg - Bülstringen
After a morning of scenic sailing, spend an afternoon in Wolfsburg, the young city full of modern ideas. An optional excursion will take you to the city’s highlights, before we continue and arrive in Bülstringen late this evening, to dock overnight.
Day 8 - Magdeburg - Harz Mountains - Brandenburg
Arriving in Magdeburg after breakfast, we travel to the Harz Mountains for a full-day included tour, stopping at historic towns on the way. We continue on to Brandenburg to dock this evening.
Day 9 - Brandenburg - Potsdam
The pretty town of Brandenburg is set amid beautiful countryside, a labyrinth of lakes and rivers, and mountain peaks providing backdrops for beautiful ancient towns. There’s some fascinating history to discover among its three settlements, which date back to the 12th century. You’ll have free time this morning to explore the town before we depart for Potsdam; the city of palaces and parks known as the former centre of Prussia. There will be an optional tour of the city this afternoon.
Day 10 - Potsdam - Berlin
Arrive in Berlin this morning and go ashore this to enjoy an included tour of the endlessly fascinating German capital. The city offers cutting-edge architecture, a vibrant culture, and a tangible history. Walk along the remains of the Berlin Wall, explore the opulent Prussian Palace, visit Checkpoint Charlie, or stand in the room where the infamous Wannsee Conference took place.
Day 11 Berlin - UK
Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. Upon arrival your Titan vehicle will be waiting for the journey home.
