German Waterways

Day 1 Dover

Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home for the journey to Dover. Embark Boudicca (3.5-star) before we set sail later this evening.

Day 2 At sea

Today is free as we begin our cruise. Enjoy a hearty breakfast then take your pick from the variety of activities on board. Show off your general knowledge in an afternoon or evening quiz. Try your hand at bridge, bingo or deck quoits. Or indulge in a traditional afternoon tea to while away your time. Top off the day with a sumptuous dinner or a simple tasty buffet.

Day 3 Travemünde, Germany

Today we sail into Travemünde, a lovely seaside resort with a charming Old Town and inviting sandy beach. Walk by the harbour and perhaps visit the Passat, a four-masted barque dating back to 1911, which is now a museum. You might like to visit nearby Lübeck, a UNESCO-listed town and former capital of the Hanseatic League. Here, wonderful gabled houses, stunning churches and grand public gardens set the scene for an afternoon of exploring.

Day 4 Warnemünde

With its wide, sandy beaches, traditional pubs and fantastic restaurants serving delicious, locally caught seafood, it’s no wonder that beautiful Warnemünde attracts visitors each year. Perhaps visit the Warnemünde Church, the 19th century lighthouse, and the quaint cottages all within easy reach of the town centre. Also known as the gateway to Berlin, you might choose to venture to the German capital to see iconic landmarks such as Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz and the remnants of the Berlin Wall.

Day 5 Kiel Canal Transit - Cruising Elbe River

The Kiel Canal is one of the world’s busiest and most important shipping routes. Luckily for us, this route through the German countryside is as picturesque as it is important. We’ll spend the morning slowly sailing past scenes of lush-green countryside and a collection of quaint villages and towns as we transit onto the River Elbe, famed for its stunning stretches of winding waterway. Relax on the top deck and take in the sights.

Day 6 Hamburg

Located on the River Elbe, Hamburg was a leading member of the Hanseatic League. The grand 19th century Town Hall, the baroque St Michaelis Church and Miniatur Wunderland - the world’s biggest model railway system, are all worth a visit. You might prefer to use your time to explore Hamburg’s ‘green heart’ - the sprawling city-centre park known as Planten un Blomen. Or discover the city’s maritime soul in the waterfront district, where you can watch Europe’s second largest port in action.

Day 7 Bremen

This Hanseatic city is home to some incredible Gothic architecture. The 15th century Town Hall (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), Marktplatz and narrow timber buildings in the Schnoor Quarter are standout highlights in the oldest part of the city. Meanwhile, Überseestadt - the former docklands - offers a completely different experience, with a selection of trendy bars, stylish cafés and fine restaurants to enjoy, as well as a beautiful harbour and sparkling yacht-filled marina.

Day 8 At sea

Keep your brain active with the morning quiz, then perfect your dance moves in the afternoon with a beginners’ class. After dinner, you could continue the dancing theme and join the hosted dancing, or choose to watch the professionals instead.

Day 9 Dover

We disembark after breakfast, where your Titan vehicle will be waiting for the journey home.
