  • Day 2 - Blaye - Bourg-sur-Gironde

Spend your morning on a scenic drive along the Route de La Corniche Fleurie. Charming 19th-century stone houses built by sea captains sit tidily along the road amidst exotic gardens, and fishing huts on stilts stand above the waters of the estuary. Upon returning to Blaye, your guide will take you through the 17th-century citadel built by Vauban, Louis XIV’s favourite military engineer. Ruins of a medieval castle, houses, squares and a convent are enclosed within the citadel’s stark walls. Or, choose to take a yoga class within the historic heart of Blaye Fortress.

    S.S. Bon Voyage (5-star)

  • Day 3 - Cussac Fort Médoc, Pauillac la Fayette

Journey to the historical village of Cussac-Fort-Médoc, before arriving in coastal Pauillac. Pauillac was a crucial enemy stronghold during WWII, and still shows remnants of its war-torn past. Embark on an afternoon Bunker Archaeology tour, where you’ll begin to understand WWII from the enemy’s point of view. Led by a local guide, tour the remains of defensive army camps, bunkers and the Atlantic Wall, an extensive coastal defence system with a series of fortifications built by Nazi Germany. In 1855, when Napoleon III asked for a classification of the best wines in France to give visitors, some 60 Médoc wines were awarded Grand Cru status - out of 61 in total. Your second option is a panoramic tour of legendary landscape, from Pauillac to the tip of the Médoc peninsula, and to one of its estates for a private tour and a tasting of premier Grand Cru wines.

    S.S. Bon Voyage (5-star)

  • Day 4 - Bordeaux - Cadillac - Libourne

Satisfy your taste buds with an exclusive artisanal wine tasting at one of Sauternes’ finest estates. Afterwards, you’ll journey to Château Royal de Cazeneuve, a polygonal 14th-century fortress with a royal pedigree. A favoured residence of Henry IV, who inherited it from his mother, Jeanne d’Albret, the beautifully restored château still belongs to descendants of the Albret family.

    S.S. Bon Voyage (5-star)

  • Day 5 - Libourne

A full day in Libourne means you’ll have plenty of time to explore the majestic landscape of villages and vineyards. Nestled along the confluence of the Isle and Dordogne rivers, the quaint town is as pretty as a postcard. On the outskirts of Libourne, you’ll find neighbouring Saint-Émilion. Discover the wine-making town by foot on a tour of its most picturesque sights, such as the magnificent Monolithic Church, all capped by a wine tasting at a beautiful château.

  • Day 6 - Libourne - Bordeaux

Continue exploring Libourne’s Gothic architecture, splendid chateaux and charming streets. Stroll around the main square which is flanked by medieval buildings, restaurants and cafés, shops and town hall. Get a feel for local life at the town’s farmers' market, the heart and soul of the town, and meet the artisans who make some of the enticing goods. Arrive back in Bordeaux just in time for a stroll through the city under the glow of the night sky.

  • Day 7 - Bordeaux (Quai des Chatrons)

There’s so much to discover with a full day in Bordeaux’s port of Quai des Chatrons. The architecture is impressive and the wine is exquisite.
