London - Prague
Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home, for your journey to London Heathrow Airport for a direct, scheduled British Airways flight to Prague. Upon arrival we transfer to the Mamaison Riverside Hotel Prague (4T), where we stay for two nights.
We enjoy breakfast at our hotel this morning, before a day at leisure. You are free to explore the magnificent Czech Republic capital, Prague. Resembling Paris with its essence of mystery, undeniable beauty and artistic charm, this city hosts a maze of cobbled lanes and pretty, hidden courtyards. Discover the history in its captivating attractions, architecture and monuments including the historic Old Town, dating back to the 12th century. As the central market place of the city, it showcases an array of buildings added over many centuries including Romanesque, Baroque and Gothic structures. You can discover St Nicholas Church and the magnificent Old Town Hall’s tower and astronomical clock. Roam the streets, admiring Prague’s famed red roofs and visit one of its many fascinating art galleries. Or you might want to simply soak up the atmosphere and, as Prague is renowned for producing some of the world’s finest brews, you can do so with a delightful drink.
Day 3 - Prague - Nuremberg
This morning we have some free time to explore Prague before transferring from our hotel to Nuremberg port, to embark AmaDante (5T). This evening enjoy a delicious welcome dinner with your fellow passengers, to ease you into life on board.
Day 4 - Bamberg
This morning, we gently cruise into the UNESCO World Heritage Site of medieval Bamberg and disembark for a guided walking tour of its delightful historic masterpieces. This medieval gem, we see its beautiful cathedral, Old Town Hall, and elegant old mansions. Later, we enjoy a delicious tasting of some of the city’s renowned smoked beer. Embark the ship once more as we cruise early afternoon, arriving in Schweinfurt tonight, before sailing through the night to Kitzingen.
Day 5 - Kitzingen - Würzburg
Arriving in Kitzingen early this morning, we disembark after breakfast for a walking tour. Notable sights include the Leaning Tower and its crooked roof, the picturesque Kitzingen Church, the Renaissance Town Hall and the Old Main Bridge. During the day you will also be welcomed to one of Germany’s oldest wine cellars, to hear of the fascinating history behind wine production within the region as well as have the chance to taste several delicious wines. Continuing to Würzburg, a city tour will include all of the city’s main attractions including the spectacular UNESCO-listed Würzburg Residence, a grand Baroque palace and one of the largest in Germany with its detailed interior, mirrored hall, imperial hall, historic rooms and impressive ceilings. The palace was built and decorated in the 18th century by a group of talented, international architects, painters, sculptors and stucco workers working under the attention of two Prince-Bishops: Johann Philipp Franz and Friedrich Karl von Schönborn. The garden is just as magnificent with immaculate sculptures, exquisite fountains and small forested areas and meadows. Later, we return to our ship for dinner, before setting sail again tonight towards Wertheim.
Day 6 - Wertheim
This morning we discover the medieval town of Wertheim renowned for its impressively detailed glassworks, where you have three excursions to choose from. On the first, take a walking tour of the medieval city centre, where historical highlights include Wertheim Castle. Or a guided bike tour along the stunning Main River will provide scenic river views. Alternatively, visit a local bakery for a fascinating pretzel-making demonstration and a delicious tasting of the mouthwatering pastry. We sail this afternoon towards Mainz.
Day 7 - Mainz - Rüdesheim - Koblenz
This morning we arrive in Mainz, for a choice of three exciting excursions, all providing a fascinating insight into this marvellous region. Enjoy a delightful guided walking tour of Mainz visiting the stained-glass windows of St Stephen’s Church designed by the artist Marc Chagall; the glowing blue designs represent detailed scriptural scenes. Or, visit Germany’s oldest university town of Heidelberg to explore its magnificent castle offering breathtaking views of the Neckar Valley. Your third option is to join the exciting ‘Tastes of the Rheinhessen region’ tour, for a morning of tasting the region’s most delicious sausages, breads and cheese. Later, spend time in Rüdesheim and choose to visit spectacular Siegfried’s Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum, or enjoy some traditional Rüdesheim coffee. This afternoon we begin our voyage to Koblenz, gliding through the Rhine River gorge viewing the charming castles and legendary Lorelei Rock along the way. After dinner, join a charming walking tour of the city admiring historic buildings, the delightful town square and picturesque shops. We sail on to Cochem overnight.
Day 8 - Cochem - Zell
Today’s destination is Cochem, a fairytale village decorated with narrow cobblestone streets and surrounded by an array of pretty vineyards. Spend the morning enjoying a guided tour of the towering 11th century Reichsburg Castle, where you can admire the beautiful castle grounds which offer picturesque views of the surrounding river. Or, you may wish to visit Cochem Mustard Mill, producing various types of the sauce including one from a 15th century monastic recipe. While here, learn of the impressive production process from start to finish. Alternatively, join a sightseeing guided bike tour adventure to the region’s most dramatic and breathtaking scenery. Sail this afternoon towards Zell, viewing stunning hillside vineyards along the way. This evening in Zell, we are welcomed by the town’s Mayor and Wine Queen to the fascinating wine festival; a truly unforgettable occasion.
Day 9 - Zell - Trier
We arrive mid-afternoon in Trier, to discover the Roman history on a guided tour to sights including the old Roman amphitheatre, the grand Roman Baths, the Basilica of Constantine - once the location where Emperor Constantine the Great would meet audiences in Roman times - and the Porta Nigra Gate, one of the largest Roman gates remaining dating back to 180AD. You may instead decide to join an enticing bike tour capturing Trier’s historical centre and cycle along the idyllic river bank path towards the artistic village of Senheim.
Day 10 Luxembourg - London
On arrival in Luxembourg, we disembark and transfer to Luxembourg Airport for a direct, scheduled British Airways flight to London Heathrow Airport, where you will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle for the journey home.
