Day 1 - London Tilbury
At London Tilbury Port, board Magellan (3T) and settle in to your cabin in time for a mid-afternoon departure. Enjoy dinner on board this evening.
Day 2 - Cruising River Seine, France
Take in the views as we spend a day on board, sailing past the delights of the River Seine.
Day 3 - Rouen
This afternoon we arrive in Rouen, the historic capital of Normandy. The old town is a maze of narrow cobblestoned streets lined with half-timbered houses and wonderful Gothic churches. As you wander, be sure to stop by Eglise St. Rouen Place du Vieux-Marché and the magnificent Cathedral Notre-Dame, which is the backdrop of the city’s main Christmas market. At this time of year, the streets come to life with games, concerts and shows. Take a seat on the Ferris wheel for a bird’s-eye view of all the fun. For a festive French treat, indulge in irresistibly fragrant speculaas (crispy spiced cookies), colourful macarons and chocolatey madeleines.
Day 4 - Honfleur
Honfleur is a beautiful little harbour town at the best of times, so at Christmas it’s simply enchanting. It’s easy to see why renowned painters and writers fell in love with its picturesque streets and charming harbour. An intimate market sits around the marina at Quai Sainte-Catherine - perfect for picking up handmade stocking fillers and sampling calvados brandy and all sorts of regional cheeses.
Day 5 - Zeebrugge, Belgium
Zeebrugge is the coastal gateway to Belgium. Stay in the city, or perhaps venture to nearby Bruges or Brussels for the day. Bruges is a delightful tangle of canals, stone bridges and charming medieval Flemish architecture, echoing to the sound of clip-clopping horses on cobbled streets. Step into your own personal Christmas card in Grote Markt, where you’ll find the city’s biggest collection of twinkling lights and wooden chalets. And don’t forget to sample the truffles in the city’s many chocolate shops. In Brussels, the Winter Wonder event takes main stage. Linger among some 200 chalets, fairground attractions, an ice rink and a giant Christmas tree.
Day 6 UK
We arrive back at London Tilbury Port this morning after breakfast.
