Just over the border, discover the medieval and Renaissance treasures of Antwerp, not forgetting, of course, to visit some of the city’s excellent chocolate shops!
At London Tilbury Port, embark Columbus (3T) in preparation for an evening sailing.
Day 2 - Amsterdam, The Netherlands
We arrive in the characterful Dutch capital this morning, famous for its extensive canals and many fine museums. View the vast collection of works on show at the Van Gogh Museum and the priceless treasures of the Rijksmuseum and take in sights such as the Magere Brug (Skinny Bridge), the Ann Frank House and the Royal Palace. Alternatively you might enjoy a trip to the lovely Keukenhof Gardens to admire the millions of colourful tulips and other flowers in bloom. We sail this evening.
Day 3 - Antwerp, Belgium
As well as being the centre of the world’s cut diamond trade, the Belgian city of Antwerp is renowned for wonderful medieval and Renaissance architecture. At the heart of the city is the Grote Markt (Great Market Square), surrounded by historic guild halls and the nearby Gothic Cathedral of our Lady, while also well worth visiting are the Royal Museum of Fine Arts, which displays paintings by Rubens, van Dyck, Magritte and others, and the Rubenshuis, once the home and studio of the 17th century painter Peter Paul Rubens.
