Day 2 - Budapest - Cruising the Danube - Szentendre Island
Savour the beauty of both Buda and Pest, on a panoramic tour showcasing key highlights. Or, experience the city as the locals do and take a ride on the metro; stop at a lively market hall; visit Károlyi Garden; and explore the National Museum. Later be treated to Hungarian hospitality at Bodor Major horse farm, Szentendre Island. Afterwards, enjoy the Captain’s Welcome Reception and Gala Dinner.
Day 3 - Cruising the Danube River - Vienna
See the city of imperial architectural marvels on a discovery tour featuring the stately Ringstrasse lined by impressive buildings such as Parliament, St Stephen’s Cathedral and the State Opera. Or, partake in the ‘City of Arts’ tour featuring a Gustav Klimt exhibit at the Belvedere.
Please note: The Vienna State Opera House is occasionally closed to visitors without advance notice, in which case we will visit an alternative venue instead.
Day 4 - Cruising the Wachau Valley - Spitz (Spitz or Melk)
Cruise through the spectacular UNESCO World Heritage-designated Wachau Valley en route to Spitz. Explore the town with a wine and nature expert and sample local wines and delicacies made with apricots. Or explore Melk’s 900-year-old Benedictine abbey and its famous library, the inspiration for the novel The Name of the Rose.
Day 5 - Engelhartszell - cruising the Danube River - Passau
Cruise the picturesque landscape and hairpin loop in the middle of the Danube, known as Schlögener Schlinge. In Passau, choose to stroll with a guide through its medieval lanes; take a panoramic tour and walk through the heart of the city; cycle along the Danube’s riverside bike path ending in Passau’s Old Town; or join a hike with a nature expert along the beautiful Ilz River.
Day 6 - Cruising the Danube River - Regensburg
Discover Regensburg, one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval towns, by walking through the UNESCO-designated Old Town or exploring Germany’s oldest Jewish community. For something completely different, tour the state-of-the-art BMW factory.
Please note: If the tour lands on a day when the BMW factory is closed, we will visit the Audi factory instead. The Audi production line is closed on weekends, in which case you will see the Audi museum instead.
Day 7 - Cruising the Main-Danube Canal
Your ship will traverse the most impressive section of one of the modern marvels of engineering, the Main-Danube Canal. Spend your last night on the ship with the Captain’s Farewell Reception and Gala Dinner.
Day 8 Nuremberg - Prague
Before transferring to Prague by coach, partake in a tour of Nuremberg, enjoying Old Nuremberg. WWll history buffs may wish to go on a guided tour of significant WWII sites, including Courtroom 600, the venue for the historic Nuremberg trials. Later in the day, you’ll transfer to Prague by coach and your hotel for two nights.
Note: Courtroom 600 is an active court. Visitors will only be permitted to see the courtroom during trial breaks.
Day 9 Prague
Join a panoramic tour to include the Prague Castle district, St Vitus Cathedral and the Golden Lane before crossing Charles Bridge to the Old Town Square. You may wish to join an exclusive insider’s look at Prague’s historic Estates Theatre with its exquisite jewel-box theatre. Enjoy a short music concert, before enjoying traditional Czech refreshments at the café in Municipal House.
Day 10 Prague - London
Transfer to Prague Airport for a British Airways or another leading airline flight to London Heathrow or Gatwick. On arrival you will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.
