Vienna to Nuremberg

We Love

Spending a morning in Dürnstein, quite possibly the prettiest village on the Danube. Admiring autumnal shades of gold and russet as we cruise through the Wachau Valley. Learning more about the fascinating city of Nuremberg, with its beautifully restored old town.

Summary

The glorious autumn colours of Bavaria and the Wachau Valley provide a scenic backdrop for this week-long Danube river cruise. We’ll start in Vienna, enjoying this beautiful city without the summer crowds, and end in historic Nuremberg, painstakingly rebuilt after the war. In between, there’s time to explore pretty Dürnstein, with its striking blue belltower; visit the splendid baroque abbey at Melk; and tour the oldest monastic brewery in the world (perhaps sampling a beer while we’re there).
