Day 1 - Dover
Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home for your journey to Dover. Embark Boudicca (3T+) in preparation for a late afternoon sailing.
Day 2 - Honfleur, France
Honfleur’s quaint 15th and 16th century architecture and colourful old harbour inspired impressionist painters and poets including Claude Monet and Eugéne Boudin. You can follow in the artists’ footsteps to take in the views they observed from behind their easels, and visit the museums and boutiques dedicated to the arts.
Day 3 - At sea
Day 4 - Santander, Spain
Santander was an important centre for Spain’s coastal defence and for hiding holy relics, long before Palacio de la Magdalena became a summer residence for royalty. Take a walk to the Peninsula de la Magdalena for rugged coastal views. Take a break on a sensational sandy beach, or sample a menu full of local flavours in a lively tapas bar.
Day 5 - Avilés
While Avilés’ stylish city centre offers plenty of high street stores, pretty cafés, museums and galleries, the Old Town quarter is its finest feature. It consists of several historic squares and plazas, interlinked by pretty boulevards from centuries past. The collection of age-old buildings includes the Camposagrado Palace, the medieval Palacio de Valdecarzana, and outstanding Gothic churches such as San Nicolás and San Francisco.
Day 6 - La Coruña
The diverse architectural styles of La Coruña make the city a delight for sightseeing. Not only does it have the only Roman lighthouse in existence, but the medieval centre - Ciudad Vieja - contains remains of a Roman wall, the medieval Church of Santiago, and a statue of Maria Pita, who warned the town of Sir Francis Drake’s invasion. Maybe take a stroll along the seafront promenade and beautiful beaches, or visit the Museum of Sacred Art and the Military Museum.
Day 7 - At sea
Day 8 - 9 - Cruising River Seine - Rouen, France (overnight)
The River Seine carries us through scenes of rolling valleys and charming villages that inspired the poised hands of Claude Monet and Henri Matisse.
We arrive in Rouen in the early afternoon of day 8, with 24 hours to explore the ‘City of a Hundred Bells’. This 2,000-year-old Normandy capital reminds us of its importance through the Roman reign and the Middle Ages. There’s a statue marking the spot where Joan of Arc was burnt at the stake. There’s a beautiful botanical garden with roses and medicinal plants. And there’s the Cathédrale Notre-Dame, much-painted by Monet.
Day 10 Dover
Early this morning we arrive back in Dover, where your Titan vehicle will be waiting for the journey home.
