Capital Cities of the Baltic

Capital Cities of the Baltic map

Day 1 Southampton

VIP Outbound4 Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home for your journey to Southampton. Embark Braemar (3.5-star) in preparation for a late afternoon sailing.

Days 2-3 At sea

As we sail towards Copenhagen, you’re free to do as much (or as little) as you wish. Maybe start your day off with a brisk walk around the deck. Or opt for a yoga class. Spend the afternoon learning a craft, or perfecting your golf swing. After your choice of dinner, you can catch a show or dance into the night.

Day 4 Copenhagen, Denmark

This morning we sail into the charming Danish capital. Learn about Copenhagen’s royal roots at the Christiansborg Palace, Amalienborg Palace and Rosenborg Castle, or walk over to Langelinie Pier to see the Little Mermaid sculpture. Save time for a potter around Nyhavn, where brightly coloured townhouses (now converted into Scandi-cool cafés and bars) sit alongside a historic canal.

Day 5 At sea

Today is free as we continue our cruise. Enjoy a hearty breakfast then take your pick from the variety of activities on board. Show off your general knowledge in an afternoon or evening quiz. Try your hand at bridge, bingo or deck quoits. Or indulge in a traditional afternoon tea to while away your time. Top off the day with a sumptuous dinner or a simple tasty buffet.

Day 6 Helsinki, Finland

Today, discover Helsinki’s architectural gems (the neo-classical buildings of Senate Square, the art nouveau railway station, the marble modernism of the Finlandia Hall) or get out of town and into Finland’s great outdoors. Take a boat around the cluster of islands scattered around the city, or perhaps venture to one of the nearby sandy beaches.

Days 7-8 St Petersburg, Russia (overnight)

An overnight stay in St Petersburg gives us plenty of time to see the city’s highlights. There are baroque palaces to tour, tree-lined boulevards to stroll along and curving canals to cruise down. The jewel in the city’s crown is undoubtedly the Winter Palace. Along with five other buildings, it makes up one of the finest museums in the world: the Hermitage. The museum’s collection is so vast that only a fraction of it is displayed at any one time - there’s everything from Egyptian antiquities and Iron Age artefacts to paintings by Picasso, Monet and Rembrandt.

Day 9 Tallinn, Estonia

All cobbled streets, turrets and Gothic spires, Tallinn has a bit of a fairytale feel to it. Must-sees include Toompea Hill, with its medieval houses and city-wall remains; the well-preserved town hall; and the 19th century Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. For a taster of the city’s history, head for the museum inside Maarjamäe Palace.

Day 10 At sea

Spend the day on board. Maybe read a book and relax or choose to listen to a fascinating talk by a guest speaker. Enjoy lunchtime melodies or a piano recital, then walk a mile with the cruise fitness instructor.

Day 11 Travemünde (Lübeck), Germany

Travemünde is a suburb of Lübeck, a UNESCO-listed city that’s brimming with Hanseatic League history. Discover its gabled merchants’ houses, 15th century buildings and gilded steeples, or stay in Travemünde itself for a lovely beach and breezy al fresco cafés.

Day 12 Kiel Canal Transit

As we journey back towards Southampton, we’ll navigate through the Kiel Canal. Connecting the North and Baltic seas, it’s one of the busiest waterways in the world. Watch from up on deck as we cruise past picturesque villages and under impressive bridges, and cross paths with ships of all shapes and sizes.

Day 13 At sea

As we sail home you may want to rest after all your sightseeing. If you’re still full of energy, there‘s lots to fill your time - from quizzes, games and music recitals to walks on deck and dance classes. And of course there’s plenty of opportunity to enjoy all the tasty food options.

Day 14 Southampton

VIP Inbound We arrive back in Southampton early this morning, disembarking after breakfast. Upon arrival, your Titan vehicle will be waiting for the journey home.
