Bulgaria Tour Holidays
In the far south-eastern corner of Europe, Bulgaria is one of the continent’s hidden jewels. The mighty River Danube forms much of the border between Bulgaria and its northern neighbour, Romania, and on the Bulgarian side you will find the historic town of Vidin, watched over by its well-preserved medieval castle, and the elegant city of Ruse, known as ‘Little Vienna’ for its grand neoclassical architecture. From here you can take excursions to the wild Rusenski Lom Nature Park and Bulgaria’s medieval capital, Veliko Tarnovo, still dominated by the impressive Tsarevets fortress.See All Holidays to Bulgaria

"The most popular Bulgarian dishes include shopska salata (chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, onions and peppers sprinkled with Bulgarian white cheese), kyopulo salad (roasted aubergines, peppers and garlic), and kavarma (meat and vegetable stew).
Bulgaria offers excellent, world-famous red and white wines, as well as grape and plum brandy (rakia). Food in Bulgaria tends to be served warm rather than piping hot."

EHIC/GHIC - Following the UK’s exit from the EU, the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) is being replaced by the Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC). UK-issued EHICs are still valid and offer the same cover as GHICs in the EU. Once your EHIC has expired, you’ll be able to replace it with a GHIC and you can apply online. You should beware of unofficial websites that may charge if you apply through them. An EHIC or GHIC is free of charge.
Either card lets you get medically necessary state healthcare in Europe at a reduced cost or sometimes free of charge, however it isn’t a replacement for travel insurance, you should have both before you travel. Some European countries don’t accept either card (including the Channel Islands of Guernsey, Alderney and Sark, Norway, Iceland, and Switzerland). To access up-to-date details for the country you’re visiting, please refer to this information
No visa is needed for British citizens to enter Bulgaria. A standard 10 year British passport is required for all holidays, which must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned date of return travel.

Kazanlak - Shipka village
Visit the Rose Valley, so called because the attractive town of Kazanlak is a famous producer of rose oil. Here you will also see the Thracian tombs that reveal the ways of life of this ancient civilisation. In the nearby village of Shipka discover the Russian Church, an architectural masterpiece.
One of the most famous monuments in the Old Town is the Ancient Theatre but Plovdiv also offers beautiful parks for the visitor to enjoy. A short distance from Plovdiv lies one of the oldest monasteries in Bulgaria, set in the beautiful Chepelare river valley. In the Monastery’s museum you will find a collection coins, jewellery and valuable manuscripts.
